Maybe because it required little more than a couple of nice goals in friendlies and in leauges to become a Ballon D'Or candidate?

But because of his performance in the CL knockout phase is mediocre, it is not surprising why Zlatan isn't aspire for the Ballon d'Or. It's well done of Zlatan to win the league in all clubs he has played for. But besides that, what has he actually accomplished? He has never won the CL and too often when his team is set against a really really strong team, Zlatan tend to disappear when the team needs Swede. The Swedish media (Aftonbladet, Expressen, Fotbollskanalen etc.) are doing their best to glorify Zlatan and portray him as a God.
