Z has in my opinion surpassed every player in history regarding the entertainment value, since he has done it season after season. So in my book; extreme agility despite extreme size, world class in pure play making alone, top class goal scoarer, arguable the best target in the world, his creativity is nothing short of crazy, without any doubt the best back heel ever... etc.
Personally, I kind of doubt I will ever be this entertained by another fotballer in my life time.
Regardning Messi:
However, back when Zlatan was at Barcelona (2010?), Messi was still somewhat in the discussions of the worlds greatest as well. The years after; 2011, 2012, Messi... well, to this day Im not even sure what he did. But there was no contest anymore, thats for sure. For me it was never about the goals though. I still remember that CL final against United. I was kind of rooting for United (sorry), and they started out really well. Barcelona where in shock the first 10-15 minutes.
So how did Barcelona handle those scenarios back then? Well, they gave the ball to Messi. And he carried his whole team over to attack. Almost literally.. I mean he moved the whole play uppwards, against the next best team in the world, in a CL final. More or less on his own. I still remember how my jaw dropped that game. After that, he did similar things again and again, against top teams like Real.
That was that. No discussion; Messi was the best/most important in the world. You dont really need a new discussion every week in that scenario.
And as I dont find Messis play very entertaining - other than the pure brilliance that game against united for example - discussing him just kind of faded.
This is no Messi thread, but I thought he deserved it

Regardning Messi:
Yeah well, Messi recieved the same "inhuman" classification from me years ago. The thing is I hold Zlatan as a better fotballer than CR, and I dont think that is close anymore. Zlatan has simply been better.the reason i bring it up i generally do not understand why we do not recognize that there are players that have done all of this before and in cases where it might be justified is in cases where we know for sure they haven't; for example, Messi's 90 goal year.
