2-3 now , last minutes of the game could be insane.

Still have no idea how the referee needed the VAR to give that penaldo

Watching half of redcafe cheering for Spurs today, and City later, is a sight to behold.

I guess they really think City will be stripped of titles, but thats unlikely.

Arsenal gave two goals today,
but in general they are super stable at the back, and killing the games
Much more deserving the league than City IMO

Ange took a top 6 team and after multiple media interviews and feel good words, he managed to take them to a top 6 team.

Amazing Barca should sign him he’s the chosen one, and whatever else Barcaforum likes to say

They finished 8th last season and lost Harry Kane, who had scored 30 league goals for them.

Not only that.
THey were playing horseshit last season
And the competition is fiercer this season for all positions up to 9th

It may be the nostalgia talking, but there is no way that this is the 'golden age' of the Premier League

Yes maybe the bottom half teams are better than any other league, but the top half teams are repeatedly getting humiliated in Europe. Even the Europa League tends to be won by Spanish or Italian teams.

But the thing that matters IMO is the top teams. IMHO the golden era of the PL was the mid to late 2000s.

Arsenal: mid 2000s Arsenal was arguably the best side in club history. In Europe they did not achieve that much, but at least they made it to a final. Even late 2000s Arsenal with Fabregas and RVP was a formidable side, repeatedly making the CL QFs. I would say mid 2000s>>modern dary>late 2000s

Chelsea: No question here

Manchester United: again, no comparison, late 2000s ManU is among the greatest teams ever

Liverpool: Modern day Liverpool had no doubt a great run, but even mid to late 2000s Liverpool was a quite good team, winning 1 CL and making the Final and Semis one more time. They even had 1-2 season when they were contenders in the PL. The gap is not that huge.

Manchester City: The only team that is clearly better nowadays.

But when you look at the bigger picture, back then the english teams routinely made the semis, sometimes even multiple teams reached the semis the same time. Nowadays only Manchester City is a real CL contender.

2021 Chelsea was an anomaly, they are the ONLY CL winner the last 20 years or so that were irrelevant BOTH before and after the winning season.

Agreed. Take City. They produce an A season, they win it at a canter. They bring their B version they only win by 3-5 points.

European football is simply in decline for a variety of reasons, making just 'good' teams like for example Arsenal stand out. Almost every European giant is in decline with only a few exceptions. The fact that the worst Bayern in 15 years, a meh PSG (compared to the Ibra and Ney/Mbappe teams), an irrelevant Dortmund have reached the CL semis speaks volumes.
