6 - Gavi

I mean come on we are looking for things to moms about for Gavi if going as far as his post game interview.

Pedri is 100% in with shout if Barca win and should be like Real when players told what messsge to give out.

Gavi maybe even just appreciates Pedri more as similar position.

His comments are fine.
Would not be able to comment on his performances without repeating myself over and over so gave something new a try

At this point re Gavi don't see him getting back into the lineup unless he improves a lot from recent performances. We got trophies to win and can't afford to keep playing him into form atm.

Should go away and try and model Pedri more rather than this, or a bargain version anyway. The defending on Renato summed up his last couple years on the pitch tbh.

He can still be useful though and I think he can be far better than he has been showing even though I don't rate him that highly, he is doing himself injustice with his play style.

Thing I noticed most was how composed everyone else was in comparison to him. We're 4-1 up in a tie, it's basically game over and time to recycle possession until the ref blows his whistle. He wants to do everything 100mph. Part of that to be fair to him is wanting to make an impact. Also as pointed out looked ridiculous trying to bully Renato Sanches off the ball, should have been booked for that. Don't get what position he's supposed to have a future in. There's no specialty in him, but he's not really a jack of all trades either. Needs to reinvent himself as a player.

He wants his spot back in first 11.... he needs to chill a bit, hope Hansi will calm him down

He won't be a starter at Barca.

He's not better than Olmo as the CAM and as a DM/B2B MF he's not better than Frenkie or Casado and I would bet Bernal would be preferred in that role as well.

He'll need to fully reinvent himself as a player to actually challenge for a starting spot and his best shot is that second deep midfield spot alongside Pedri, but he plays at full speed, is out of position constantly and has no calmness with the ball under pressure so he has a lot to work and improve at.

Of course he is not and won't be a starter but for now it looks he shouldn't even be a first sub for any of the midfield positions. At DM there are Casado, FDJ and Bernal, at CM Pedri and FDJ (while Casado takes DM) and in AM Olmo, Fermin and in next season Raphinha if we sign a winger. There is also Torre who I would prefer at AM. Gavi should be the 3rd/4th choice for any of those positions but I'm sure his salary doesn't reflect his role as a sub of subs and that's a problem.

Worst bit was his post-game where they asked him about Ballon Dor and he said Pedri should win it.

Love Pedri but he'll get his go eventually. He should have backed up Raphinha :/ Quite obvious who is having the Ballon Dor season atm.
Pedri is playing at the world best midfielder level and you think it's crazy to say he is in Bdor conversation?

Casado and Gavi are the slowest two players at the club (Casado makes up for it with top acceleration to be fair).

Absolutely can't pair them in double pivot.

No wonder Gavi-Casado lost control of the Atleti Copa mid.

He tries too hard to fit into a role he can't handle. He has focused way too much on the destructive side of football to try and add something different to the squad. Hasn't worked out for him.

Gavi: "Upset for not being a starter? No way. People make up a lot. I've signed for five years at Barça, and I'll see them out, it's the club of my life. As long as I can, I'll be here. We rotate a lot, and the manager trusts me." Via @marca

Xavi indulged that too much and he regressed.

Still time but as said for years now too much was made and credit given for this hard man act and he and a lot of fans fell for it hook line an sinker.

Was at his best when first broke through.

Good comment. He's here for a long haul and few if any fight for this club as Gavi.
