Flick's biggest mistake is trying to shoehorn him at all costs and it's not working.

The cold hard reality is he has no use and no role in this team right now with his current form and abilities. He just doesn't provide anything other than running around like a headless chicken.

Bad. Lots of running, but very little in terms of useful output.

Don't know if it is injuries or something else, but his game has hardly progressed over the last 1-2 years. I'm not even sure how to characterize him as a midfield or what useful skills he has.

I hate this runt. The thing that annoys me the most about him is how he tries to pretend to be someone he isn't.

You are a little kid and nobody is scared of you. Act like a footballer instead and scare people with your technique, not your bone-thin fatty torso.

He has to clean his game a lot. He likes to recover the ball, but if you go for the duel, you better make sure you win it. Far too often he goes in and loses duels. Drop the tough guy act. He's got heart but he's not a physically strong player. And improve on the ball instead.
He is a very poor athlete if we tell the truth. He is weak, he is slow, he is inagile. The only positive about him is his stamina is good but that hardly matters if your running is useless in the first place.

He needs to accept he is a small guy and he needs to stop pretending to be someone he isn't. As me and other said many months ago.

Total shite. He has regressed in the last 2 seasons. He is even more chaotic than he was. To believe I picked him ahead of Pedri...

Until he cleans up his act he is not fit to play in the bigger games.
You were told that a long time ago and insisted he is a world class ball winning midfielder.

World-class? He is barely fit for Las Palmas.

He's back from an ACL injury and the effects are clearly still there. He should not start games and should be eased into the squad once again. We all know from experience of watching him play he can do much better than this, so I'm calm and I think others should be as well. It's really not his fault, I have no idea why Flick subbed him on.
No. Don't make excuses. It has been a long time coming and if you look back, the same criticisms of him were being made before his ACL injury. He is no different now than he was then.

The only difference is we play actual football now instead of Xavi's haramball and he is being exposed for his lack of game intelligence and contribution offensively.
