Never this bad. They were an ugly winning machine.

Their current team is filled with flaws and their defense is a big fat joke. Their defense is the kind that you associate with clubs like Tottenham.

Their midfield is filled with cloggers and doesn't have the technical ability a Madrid midfield should have.

You think Arsenal is gonna take them out? Because if they aren't, they're in the semis again. Since 2010-11, they failed to make the semis only 2 times. 2 times in 14 years. 13 semis in last 15 depending on Arsenal and you compare them to Tottenham .

You tend to play poorly offensively if you face a top tier defensive unit in adverse conditions. Barcelona under Pep also happened to play poorly vs Inter in 2010 at home, or MSN Barca in 2016 vs Simeone (0-2). Peak Klopp also happened to play poorly offensively on their ground in 2020 (0-1). Or Pep's City in 2021 I think (0-0). Notice the 0 for conceded goals by Atletico at home vs those elite teams. There's a simple logical connection as to the reason that happens. It's not because those teams are off form on that night out of some random event.
It’s a shame we played that mediocrely in the second leg. That season was insanely good and we only lost 4 times. Maybe if Iniesta wasn’t injured we would have won that UCL. But then again, this injury was caused by the fact that Iniesta played the 09 final while injured.

The only thing I think that could hamper Madrid is a full league format. They have an edge mentally vs all teams out there in pressure matches, except for maybe a premiere Barcelona version. And even there it's a 50-50 match, don't think Barca is favorite vs Madrid in CL at the moment.

This Atletico is far from the 2016 finalists. Part of the reason Real's xg is shite is because only Bellingham is willing to make runs across the goalkeeper. Both Mbappe and Vinicius will linger looking for the cutback. At one point they had Valverde literally pointing to Vinicius where he should be running into.

For all the hyperbole around that front three, they never really string anything together often. I actually think Madrid look more sensible with Brahim Diaz on the field for them.

I compare their current defense to Tottenham because they have a very Spursy defense.

It's extremely fragile and easy to cut through. PSG would annihilate this defense.

I don't trust this season's Arsenal though. They don't have good attackers.

Yeah. All of those things count. But only if your defense is strong enough to make them count.

Or you can try to dominate the ball against them and attack. But only Barca seem to be able to do it consistently vs Madrid. And that in lesser pressure matches, nothing like CL deciders.

PSG is not gonna annihilate anything lol. PSG - Madrid is 50-50 at best and that's flattering for PSG.

There was no tap regardless of the editing they do. He almost taps it but almost is not tapping. The ball is bombarded near and over his boot, the speed was insane.
The rules are clear, the ball needs to stay put and the player can't hit it again in a rebound or you can't pass it to yourself. There is no rule for such a case where the ball is flying over your boot or at best scrapes your boot.

This is abominal. Even if it did scratch the boot, you just cant dissallow penalty in those circumstances. Its pure evil. Its not like he had advantage with doing that. Dude slipped and by the look of it it didnt change direction, anything. Messi in world cup was clear 2 touch penalty.
