"Atlético de Madrid consulted UEFA about the incident, which caused the annulment of the penalty thrown by Julián Alvarez at the end of yesterday's UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid.

Although it was minimal, the player contacted the ball with the support foot before kicking, as shown in the attached video. According to the current rule (Rules of the Game, Rule 14.1), the VAR had to call the referee to cancel the goal.

UEFA will enter into talks with FIFA and IFAB to determine whether the rule should be reviewed in cases where a double touch is clearly involuntary"

None of these angles proves anything and they are all controversial to say the least.

To think guys in the VAR room actually were sure that he touched the ball, having so little time and so shit angles to determine is pure lunacy

What happened is they saw it's unbelievably close and just gave the decision in Madrid's favour, because that's easier and less people will complain

This is the reality, that no number of vague controversial angles can change. Nothing here is clear, especially not to make a decision so fast and of such weight.

Atletico got massively robbed last night, there is no doubt
What question do you need answered to fix your doubts?

Even Julian didn't celebrate the goal because he knew. Also didn't complain.

Not true, Julian said he didn't feel to have touched the ball at all.

I don't need any questions, I need a perfectly clear proof. These angles are not it. You are lying to yourself if you think otherwise, they tell nothing.

This is a decision that holds the weight of disqualification of one team. It needs crystal clear proof, there is none.

UEFA issuing a statement to Atletico and there is no word about sensors or any kind of technology. UEFA provides another one of the useless angles and absolutely nothing is proven.

Yeah, now it's clear as day what I suspected is true. They are not sure if he really touched it or not. They were just quick to call it what's best for Madrid as they had an opportunity and knew it brings less damage.

But the morons in here were adamant last night: 'It's the rule' :clown:

FFS thickness is so abundant in here

I believe we can do it and reach the final, but for now step by step, first we focus on Dortmund then we can truly dream for the 6th in Munich
