Flick's very true statements are like a slap in the face to the posters around here who said La Liga is easy to win, with only Madrid to be concerned about, and beating the smaller sides is very straightforward. It is obviously not that easy to beat the midtable and bottom table clubs, as Flick found out very quickly.
Stop it

No one is saying you need to win every game Flick just makes dumb mistakes like rotating for champions league games vs young boys when PSG likely to qualify with 5 points in 5 games.

Or conceding two late game goals against sociedad because of a naive high line, even Liverpool and Pep tell teams to drop deeper and get tighter at the back.

These are the things he’s being criticised for not one or two dropped points.

He is finding out why Spanish sides dominate European competitions.

Hes found out nothing.
Or hes learnt nothing.
Until we see changes or flexibility in his tactics there is no hope.

I believe he is gonna learn. He hasn't been exposed to reactive football in Bundesliga because 19th placed team there plays pretty much like the 1st place. There is almost no variation in the entire league. This is his first contact with teams that are aware of their strenghts and weaknesses and set up playing in a realistic manner to account for that. This is gonna challenge his approach and likely improve Flick as a manager. Add much needed elements to his methods that he didn't need to develop in the Bundesliga.

Titanium Thomas says that’s utter bollocks

Tuchel's Mainz side prioritized adaptability in their approach, changing formation or tactical set-up multiple times each game to negate the particular strengths of their opponent. Speaking on this, Tuchel remarked, "We broke all [established] tactical rules [and assumptions] not for the sake of it, but because we were inferior in all aspects [at Mainz] and were forced to."[37] During his time at Dortmund, Tuchel often used the 4–1–4–1 and 4–2–3–1 formations; with the former, he made his team force overloads in space out wide, while with the latter, he looked to create overloads in pockets of space in between the lines of the opposition.[19] He also made the club more ball-dominant, as average possession by the team increased almost 9% following his appointment.

What are you talking about? Teams in Spain have traditions of playing like that. Decades. It was damn tough to score at Getafe away in 2010, and it's still tough to score there for us in fucking 2024.

There's a good chance we will essentially lose the League today (after our last 6 rotten games) and you know the usual simps will still defend Flick to the death

He underestimated La Liga. Had a much deeper squad with Bayern, stronger team and less teams in that competition as well. Not to get into tactical nuances of competition and managers here.

Almost never heard him talk about opposition, only repeating mantra about how we play the same.

Clearly did not prepare well enough before signing.

But he can prepare now and nothing is lost yet. It's just about not being stubborn as a mule. If you're stubborn as a mule, you better be right.

If he followed the league history he'd have known that even Barca teams that dominated Europe still had to suffer in the league in quite a few games. Fans who remember those days know it wasn't all about scoring 4-5 goals a game. When he treated Osasuna away like it was just a random league match, it was obvious that he didn't understand the league, or that he is arrogant enough to not be concerned about the opposition. If he improves on this and comes up with smart adjustments, there is no other reason why he can't be a top manager for us.

There is no guarantee of any team losing the league in December, especially if the point gap is maximum 3-6 points and all teams involved in the title race are prone to frequently dropping them.

I dont understand how do you guys not learn from Atletico themselves. Few months ago they were like 10 points behind us, losing 4-0 to Benfica in CL and it was all pointing towards a disastrous season. A brief winning streak against easy opponents and suddenly it is all the opposite.

Birdy still rates LL as the weakest of the 4 major leagues by far

We would need both Madrids to let a 6 points lead slip in case of losing tonight. That's pretty unlikely, they aren't as retarded as we are by the looks of it. One of them will grind it out either by quality (Real) or determination (Atletico).

There's 7 managers that impressed me in my 25 years of watching club football. Pep, Ancelotti, Klopp, SAF, Mourinho, Simeone, and Zidane. 5 of those 7 are La Liga legends.
