11 - Raphinha

He had absolutely no reason not to pass here
I didn't watch the game, but that is shocking. He has two options there. Personally I would have passed to the guy furthest to his right (looks like Ferran Torres but impossible to tell on this still). I know he isn't as confident on his right foot but it's a simple pass. If he plays it a bit in front of the player then it's an easy tap in. The pass to the player in the middle is on too though he has less of the goal to aim at I feel due to the goalkeeper's presence if goalkeepers shifts left. But if either players shoots near the far post it's a goal either way.

But even though he had a bad game, as most of you are saying, I wouldn't worry too much. He has played well all season, been one of the key players, and has credit in the bank. He just needs to get his head right and do the things he'd been doing up until the Argentina game. I don't think that game 'got in his head' or anything - we can all speculate about that. But even if it did he will get over it and now he has almost two months of the season left to do what he does best and create carnage in the opposition defensive third. He needs to maintain his best form as in terms of scoring goals Barca can't win anything without he and Yamal fit and firing on either side of Lewy. They're the two integral attackers.

Edit: company of cules different still makes it look like he was off balance (or maybe he'd just turned inside, it is hard to tell without seeing the actual move in motion), and as he says, maybe lacked the vision to see them in the heat of the moment. Stills can be deceiving, but I still think a quality forward player at an elite European club should be making the pass to either player. Standards are high.

The brazilian was very much in the heat of the moment and not far from post. It's even hard to tell if he saw them, this is the only moment when he had the oportunity. He is clearly not a huge star to begin so maybe he had tunnel vision. On the other hand, Lamine had every chance to pass and was grasping at straws. I guess this makes the difference between huge players and good players. They both failed to bag an easy win in a very hard game.

I obviously haven't seen the move actually develop, and obviously as I said stills are very deceiving. But in that particular Yamal still, it looks like the passing lanes are blocked off more thn for Raphinha. If Yamal comes inside on his left and tries to play it to Lewy, the Atletico number 2 might stick a leg out and intercept or the boy coming back could get a toe on it. The pass to the far left Barca attacker (is it Raphinha?) looks completely blocked off. Maybe when he came inside he could slide it between the two Atletico players. Like I say, after he came inside and a second later, the space had probably opened up. I would need to see both these moves in motion and I'd appreciate if anyone can post them or find highlights as I am interested in seeing how they played out. It's impossible to really tell without seeing the moves in motion.

I thin you're most likely right that Yamal could pass, but that's an unfortunate still as it shows Yamal in the process of coming inside before he is set for a pass. A split second or so later or a half second later would maybe show better, when play has developed.

Needs to pick up his performances if he wants to win Ballon d'Or.

Even if we sweep the trophies there is every chance Lamine or Pedri wins above him, especially if they continue to shine in the big games at the end of the season and he continues to not.

I feel he has gotten carried away with this whole leader role a little. The last month or so his form has dipped and he needs to just knuckle down and work hard and let the football do the talking.

If we sweep the trophies,
The award should go to the best players in the team.
Which is obviously yamal or Pedri.

He really ran out of gas during the international break.
Hopefully this rest and mental reset helps him for the rest of the season.

He should've come on instead of Yamal, not Torres. Ideally, he should've started the game. With more minutes, he likely would’ve scored. Once he came on, the left flank consistently created promising half-chances
