    The Anti-Amigo League

I don't usually joke around! These two are over 40 now I think, but yeah I think they'd both be a lot better than Depay in the current year tbvqh. No I do not want them back, but if a player like Busquets is consistently one of the best players of the team I think he should continue to play...

    Frenkie de Jong

Yeah, I like that writers stuff, thanks for the link. But this season, and especially the last games, there is something other than 'weaknesses' or 'strengths' at play I feel. He has had his injuries that he may not be completely fit from, but it mostly seems to be a mental thing, he looks like...

    Emiliano Martínez 'Dibu'

Really stunning saves after the little mistake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky4jqiJXz0o

    Emiliano Martínez 'Dibu'

Came to think of this thread just now. Watched a game of him for the first time this saturday. Stunning! :)

    Nico Gonzalez

Never thought he looked like a bum. But there is a lot of improvement to be made, and he shouldn't be dissatisfied if he plays less than 2000 minutes a couple of seasons. That season I mentioned, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas and Thiago all played around 2000 minutes, and they were 31, 27, 24, 20 age...

    Nico Gonzalez

There is space for him, but like Pedri and Gavi, it went a bit too fast for him. He went from Barca B to starter just after a few games, because of injuries etc. So now he believes maybe that he is better than he really is, and might seek another club if he doesn't get to play enough from here...

    Sergio Busquets

And then they found out that he had paid foreign guys to criticize some of the players, many of them catalan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bar%C3%A7agate

    Sergio Busquets

Where is that propaganda? On this site, I think there is only me and maybe 5 regular posters who somewhat defend him. Just check what is written ITT after last game! Only one madridista who really defend him, and then you find more posts about "how he escapes criticism" than posts not...

    Alex Collado

Ok, thanks for a fuller quote! Still no real clarity on if it was how much he liked him that made his desire to train fade a bit, or if it was something else. Also nothing saying he gave up, he just didn't feel like it as much, maybe he trained harder even if he didn't desire it as much? He...

    Xavi Hernández

Setien was great and ruthless at the beginning, before he fell on somebody elses shield. Xavi is one who has the full authority to do whatever he thinks is best, but he still seems a bit laissez-faire unfortunately. I hope it is soon that he'll introduce a bit more of his ideas.

Do you think every situation involves only what "has been reported"? Your assumption is from thin air, have to ask him "why" before you make those very damning comments about him!

    Xavi Hernández

Yes, it will take 18 months more until I'll really judge his work, and he deserves these months of course. I won't sit silent and just accept whatever until then though.

    Xavi Hernández

Yeah these people must be pretty satisfied. Results have been OK too, although a bit of luck in some games (bad luck in others) I didn't expect a carbon copy of Pep, but a similarly unshakeable belief in the basic philosophy. That's why I shilled for him for years. I am not with you on "the...

    Xavi Hernández

I hope you are correct. It's not about 'fun' for me though, but it is about seeing hints of vision and determination, and things that might not work at the moment but that they work on and might improve a lot over time. I think there is a window in the first weeks-months where a new leader can...

I don't know how far you'll go in life by assuming stuff like this :) Why would you think it was "just because a coach doesn't prefer him"?
  16. Bobo32

    Xavi Hernández

Dude there is a difference between setting the world on fire or not and having a vision and guts and knowledge to fulfill it. I'd prefer it if he lost a few more games and even played a bit worse now and then, but was more clearly working on something that might give fruits long term. I don't...

    Frenkie de Jong

Yeah Busquets must miss Messi more than most. And Messi must miss Busquets as much as anything... These easy passes to the midfielders will not be as great as it could potentially be now with Busquets still there. Dembele and Frenkie both recieved perfect passes between the lines yesterday...

    Frenkie de Jong

Frenkie looked even slower and older than Busquets yesterday. When they both played together in a block of 2, as they did a lot the last year, Busquets overshone Frenkie despite being much less suited for that role etc. I've written my comparison many times and should not repeat myself too...

    Frenkie de Jong

Yes? Ronaldinho was there, Eto'o, Deco, Xavi and Puyol too. If you were there and saw the change, maybe you'd understand... At least that's how I see it. Busquets will be impossible to replace 1:1, and the club has a big challenge to find someone when he retires. Maybe it will be a completely...

    Frenkie de Jong

Or they remember how it was when Marquez and Edmilson (both world class players) played there instead. Maybe they also saw the improvement with Busquets, and they saw what happened when the club tried different players like Song, Mascherano, or indeed Frenkie, there.
