The whole "Thiago is leaving to have a better chance of making the world cup team" is most likely an invention of the tabloids. At the very least, it's speculation.

Jonathan Dos Santo barely plays. Marc Muniesa barely plays. Even Marc Bartra barely plays. Maybe Thiago doesn't play as much as he would want to, but he doesn't barely play. Again, 100 games before turning 22 with the likes of Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas on the team.

It's not like they would actually announce it to the world if they were planning to off-load Valdes in the summer.

This is exactly how I see it. If he's jumping ship now, he was always going to jump ship eventually so it's not worth freaking out about it. Those few extra minutes here and there wouldn't change a thing. It would put the buy-out clause at 90M but Thiago would still be "sad" and his entourage...

His thread on Red Cafe is out of control. No matter what happens, the meltdowns (here or there) will be glorious.

He's been very good in the second half of the season. I don't see why anyone would want to sell him, especially since he's the only back-up for Busquets.
