2011-2012 CL Final: Bayern - Chelsea

Unreal match. Bayern had every chance to keep the cup at home. The were tactically absolutely superior - they did it better than Barca b/c they were so much more variable in their attacks, with Müller roaming around, them taking outside shots, putting crosses in, cutting in from the flanks etc...

    Arjen Robben

Robben is finished. Lost pace from his injuries, which wasnt visible yesterday b/c Chelsea played so deep. He also lost his shooting skills and his coldbloodiness in front of the goal. 1-2 years ago, you saw him cutting in and hammering the ball into the angle. Now he hit them high into the sky...

2011-2012 CL Final: Bayern - Chelsea

Im not even sure if van Buyten is part of the squad. He played 60min with the reserves last week - doesnt look like hes making it, at least not into the starting 11. Although it would be perfect vs Drog. Bayern will most likely start like this: --------------Gomez...

    Shinji Kagawa

Exactly my impression. Kagawa is outstanding in heavily crowded areas, where he can feint opponents with his agility (quick turns, strong touch and ball control/dribbling) - i.e. exactly in Rooneys current position. But im not fully convinced if he can shine elsewhere.

    Shinji Kagawa

Kagawa officially stated that he is not gonna extend his contract at Dortmund. He is also on a trip to Manchester currently. And while he can ofc be replaced by Götze and Reus, it could help on Dortmunds somehow apparent problems last season: they dont seem to have the energy for two matches...

    Borussia Dortmund

Bittencourt is one of the most talented players of his generation in germany. Offensive Midfielder for Energie Cottbus, playing in the 2nd division since he was 17. Also the 2nd youngest scorer in the history of the 2. Bundesliga. He is still 18 i think.

2011-2012 CL Final: Bayern - Chelsea

Happened to Jupp Heynckes at RM already ... in 1998 i think.

    David Alaba

Those transfer rumors will prolly vanish now after that game. Im not worried about him though as he is still only 19 yet.

    Bayern München

I think i said prior to the RM matches that Boateng and Gustavo are a huge liability for Bayern. They didnt show that vs RM but made up for it now with both players singlehandedly causing the first 3 goals. The good thing is that Gustavo is out for the CL final ... Bayerns morale is probably on...

    Germany

11 of the 27 preliminary squad head off for the training camp. The Bayern players will join very late (they have a friendly match vs Holland even a few days after the CL final), Dortmund players after the DFB cup and Özil and Khedira after another useless test match for RM in Katar (or so). Not...

    Neymar - v2

I guess there are two basic kind of football spectators: 1. Those who want to get entertained by individual player's tricks and skills 2. Those who like to see a football team of 11 players act as an efficient unit with discipline, effective tactics and (perhaps) overwhelming offensive power...

    Neymar - v2

It doesnt matter how good some 'ancient' player might be under todays conditions. If you for instance say Pele is the best player of all times, you refer to that Pele and how he played back then, what he really did and what real skills he had. And not to someone totally hypothetical. If we...

    Neymar - v2

All these cross-century comparisons between players and teams are so useless. Training and tactics developed so much that there is no points in doing it. The Pele of the 60ies - if he would do a timewarp to 2012 - would have a hard time getting into a 3rd or 4th division team nowadays. Thus its...
