    Lionel Messi - v7

Is there anything yet on la liga's reaction to any of this this? Or any other club's? I have no clue whether Messi leaving would actually be enough of a hit for la liga to reconsider anything, or whether that's just fans' talk.

    Tebas for the rescue!

    Lionel Messi - v7

Not a play, but the pressure is there. The question is more whether there's any chance la liga will do anything about it, or let it slip. Doubt Laporta wouldn't sign Messi if the situation changed.

    Lionel Messi - v7

The thinking (or hoping) was more that there's no way this does not add an insane amount of pressure to la liga/Tebas from more sides than just Barca with a chance (albeit unlikely) that a solution could be found with more flexibel rules, not so much that they are pretending.

...yeah. I don't feel I know more than last night, to be honest.

    Lionel Messi - v7

This press conference better be on time today, and not the usual Barca 2 hour delay.

    Lionel Messi - v7

Personally, I don't really understand how as a Barca fan you can't automatically also have fanboyish feelings for Messi (or other Barca legends before him, for that matter). We've been watching him for practically 15 years, he brought us more success than we were used to and he's never given us...

    Lionel Messi - v7

At this point we'll just have to wait it out and see what the actual outcome will be. Rumours about contract talks with PSG are to be expected; he would be silly not to. I do think his decision ultimately depends on whether the Barca/la liga situation is 100% finite or not, though. Unless, of...

    Lionel Messi - v7

Perhaps not, but they had to be aware that putting out that statement with that particular wording will put all the pressure possible anyway, from fans, investors, other la liga clubs, TV audiences. And they accepted that, otherwise they wouldn't have even gone into the la liga subject in the...

    Lionel Messi - v7

Doing that they would call their own bluff though. If it is a bluff. Intended or not, naturally this does put pressure on la liga.

Next 14 or so hours are going to be fun. Thank you! Outside of the Barca blues, I can't complain about life right now. Hope you are well too!

    Lionel Messi - v7

Supposing this is not a bluff, what a shameful way to announce the supposed exit of Messi. A club statement and a tribute video an hour later?

    Lionel Messi - v7

Would that surprise you, at this point? The levels we have fallen in terms of seriousness and management in recent years, this wouldn't shock me. And I don't believe he is leaving, yet.

I don't buy it yet either.

Bild now reporting that negotiations with Bayern have failed.

    İlkay Gündoğan

Could be that I'm missing something, but the most recent bit on Gündogan by Bild didn't say anything about a done deal, just that "Gündogan can be bought for about 25 millions. Bayern have supposedly offered him a 3-year contract and about 8 million in wages". The Højbjerg bit comes from a...

CL semis: Bayern - Barca 3-2 (3-5 agg.)

Yep, he was interviewed by Handelsblatt, link: http://www.handelsblatt.com/sport/fussball/fc-barcelona-vizepraesident-verhoehnt-die-bayern-ich-moechte-nicht-vom-konzern-kontrolliert-werden/11764170.html (3 pages) As I said, he was asked whether Bayern were a role model for Barcelona and replied...

CL semis: Bayern - Barca 3-2 (3-5 agg.)

Except that the interview was published before the game, yesterday morning. And how did he forget to mention the fact that Barcelona are still in debt? The first three question of the interview were about Barcelona's financial situation and development wrt debts, and the last part of...
