    1 - Victor Valdes

Hehe, we might be talking differently if Pique didn't clear that rebound in the 2nd minute. But VV came back well, staying tough after getting a knock. I have no problem at all with him as our keeper.

Champions League Final 2009: FC Barcelona vs ManUtd: Champions of Europe!

Not to take anything away from previous treble winners, but to win all three competitions with such style & dominance....amazing Best team of my lifetime, and it's my team!!! :flagvl8:

    9 - Samuel Eto'o

 You know the lion will break loose. My mind says let him go, but my heart says No No No. Whatever happens, Sammy's a :2145960713mundoemot legend!

    Positive Thinking Cules

Are we the best Liga team of the 90s & 00s??? In any case, we are slowly closing the trophy gap between us and Madrid. :hooray: At least 2 more to come for 2010!!!

    Thierry Henry

Makes a helluva lot o sense to me. And don't we have a final today? Let's all just get behind our players instead of pointless pissing contests. Plenty of time for that in the offseason :D.

    State of La Liga

You're right about the dropoff. For instance, Deportivo would probably destroy Fulham. However some of the rich, lesser clubs (ManCity, Spurs, and famously Newcastle) are so mismanaged that if they get their act together, the Valencias & Genoas of this world probably won't keep up. There's a...

Champions League Final 2009: FC Barcelona vs ManUtd: Champions of Europe!

Huh, it was a joke....but the point is that many teams have come close to winning 2 years in a row, only to lose in the final. Anyway, just watched the preview show on ESPN, and Tommy Smyth picking Man U actually made me feel good. That guy's an idiot. Also on the show, they said Henry was...

Champions League Final 2009: FC Barcelona vs ManUtd: Champions of Europe!

To continue these trends from the 1990s, remember: 1994: AC Milan win 1995: AC Milan lose, Ajax win 1996: Ajax lose, Juventus win 1997: Juventus lose, Borussia Dortmund win . . . 2008: Manchester United win 2009: ??? Hey man, you can't win 2 in a row! It's against the rules :-p

    Darijo Srna

Do we? Only if he can attack and defend brilliantly, and those players are rare. Our formation is so attacking and vulnerable to counterattacks, that I don't mind having a defensive LB. Zhirkov & Lahm, though great going forward, don't quite cut it defensively for me.

    Andrés Iniesta

Yea, I'm still pretty new so I didn't know if anybody actually reads that thread. Wasn't sure if I should put it there, or in the Barca news forum, or in this thread. Anyhow, thanks . As someone who's been pimpin Iniesta to everybody since I saw him for Spain under 20, this article brought...

    Zarate

Old-ish thread, but IMO, he's the 2nd most talented Argentinian around now. He's not quite the player that Milito, Tevez and Aguero are yet, but is touch, passing and shooting are magnificent, and if he becomes more consistent, I think he'll be better than all of them (obviously not Messi...

    Ronaldo

I wasn't really following football politics and new that much when he was at Barca...but was there a good reason why he left? More money? Or did he just want a different challenge?

    Ashley Cole

Haha...I thought it was only Arsenal fans who hated him so much. But yea, Cashley's on the Zlatan/ Balotelli/Bellamy level of dickishness

    Alexander Hleb

I liked Hleb a lot at Arsenal, and hope Pep trusts him enough for another chance. Only thing is he's not as good at Xavi or Iniesta at spraying the ball around, so I'm not sure he's ever gonna be used as a CM in our 4-3-3. When we got him, I thought the idea was that He can be a winger, making...

Champions League Final 2009: FC Barcelona vs ManUtd: Champions of Europe!

I may be wrong, but I don't have a good feeling abt that CR7 vs Keita match-up, especially if the DM helping Keita is Busquets.... Sylvinho seems like a better bet to me.

    9 - Samuel Eto'o

This is pretty much how i feel as well. The 29 goals weren't all tap-ins. Everyone can see he's lost some form, but don't forget that he's been great in the (not too distant) past. And to criticize him for being selfish is kinda silly. We've already won the league, and we're trying to get an...

    State of La Liga

Sure bad teams are bad everywhere, but I think the mid-level clubs in England are getting better, and you have ManU, Hellsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Man City...That's six teams that can outspend any team in La Liga except us & Real (maybe Atleti). Sevilla & Vill have done incredibly well...

    Gabriel Milito

If he does return for next season, wouldn't he be behind Puyol, Pique & Marquez, based on their strong performance this season? Not to mention we also have Henriques, Caceres & Victor. I have a feeling either he or Marquez won't be with us next year.
