1st goal was a big mistake. Shades of that Sane goal. Sometimes he fails to make contact with long shots
I see lots of people calling it a big mistake, blunder etc. That was a good, powerful shot which swerved sideways, with the defender in front of the ball.

I also see lots of comments regarding his technique. Courtois does the same type of save with his right hand for long shots coming on his left side. Probably it's standard goalkeeping technique, dunno.

Anyway, him not being quick enough or tall enough are far better arguments to make when looking at that goal. Just not as disastrous as people are calling it.

If he had save it, it would be a fantastic save for any keeper. the shot was too hard hit, many players in front and he barely managed to marginally reach it which in itself was hard, with that ball speed. get a grip.

No-no, I think most goalkeepers will agree that this was a mistake. he knows it himself.

He tried to punch the ball at first and while it was a very powerful shot that swerved a bit it wasn't exactly in the corner.

He could have and arguably definitely would have saved it if he treated the shot like an actual powerful shot instead of a cross.

Most of those are 6 yard box finishes. Does this guy who made the video think that GKs save every single shot even from 5 yards out?

Some people think that their goalkeeper should be Superman. Truth is every GK in the world makes mistakes and most of the time shots on target in the 6 yard box are goals. You aren't going to get a forcefielded goalkeeper anywhere that can save every single shot that comes at them. Most GKs also have 'shockers' from time to time, even the top ones.

Onana was seen as a top GK and excelent replacement for Ter Stegen, not that long ago. We have lots of goalkeeping experts in here.

They probably never heard of Ruud Hesp or Rustu Recber.

Christensen should have closed down way more aggressively than he did and that shit was savable If mats went for it the right way from the jump.

Shit happens through, it was still a great strike

Christensen rushes out to close the shot as soon as he sees that the midfield have gone AWOL and vacated that area.

Not on him at all.

If anything Fermin was the closer one to close Bellingham down and made a half arsed attempt.

Gavi shouldnt be leaving tht area of park to go in to box unless tracking a runner ..and then header ball down into that area he should be.

Leave the defenders to deal with those balls in and get in area to defend in midfield,

Same with winner.. Gavi just follows ball and makes it third Barca player to go out to cross and leaves Modric to get into box.

Gavi follows anything that moves as ever from midfield.

The midfield shape was horrendous that second half.
