I'd like Potroh to come in and explain to us how he was lucky in this game as well.

Very funny My Lord...
He had a great and unlucky game this time. He could have stopped the goal with some luck, but unfortunately (just look at the slow motion) he reflectively closed his eyes when felt the ball was coming into his face.
No "explanation" is needed...

I wasn't as critical to MATS during his bad period as most of other users here but I always though he could do better. Now I believe Cillessen's good performances in Copa have pushed Olaf to also do a lot better in last month when he was constantly our at least top 3 player (that's actually sad for the rest of the team but good for him for doing his job). If we would only have more of that positive "competition" in most of other positions too...

I don't think it's a true competition because both GK statuses have been known and it's very unlikely Lucho would change that in midseason but I think MATS has clearly seen that Jasper is a good GK too and he has to play at high level if he'd like to keep his position for next season with possible new coach (when both MATS and Jasper will need to prove themselves again but if he'll continue to play like this until end of the season then new coach won't have much reason to really change anything regarding our GK position) incoming too.

He is way better in the last 4-5 matches, he is almost a world class.
Maybe it has something with Cillessen's good form also...

On the other hand, I see that no one except Potroh is mentioning AM's goal.
Maybe I am asking for a perfection, but I also wasn't happy with his reaction at AM's goal and I was quite pissed at him in that moment:

Reaction? Do you mean how he reacted to the ball? Or how he emotionally reacted to the goal?

If you are talking about the save reaction then it was really tough to save considering it took a defelection of godins head and got in the net very fast and he had negligible time to react, even though the deflection wasn't much but its very awkward to save.

I wasn't happy because he actually jumped at the ball (like instinctively) and then closed his eyes.
I know that keepers do that sometimes in 1 vs 1 and close range shots, but in this case it was wrong imo.

Anyway, here is the pic, it is visible that he jumped, closed his eyes and the ball flew between his hands and above his head, which would be a savable shot (imo) for a keeper with open eyes:

So, his sight was limited and the ball came fast at him after Godin headed it, which is why he perhaps flinched, but you deem that saveable?

If he had saved that then THAT would have been a LUCKY save, because there's no way that shot is saveable unless you're lucky and the ball comes right at you and hits your arm or other part of the body.

For a good average but LUCKY goalkeeper it is a savable shot.
- A GK should never instinctively close his eyes, unless he is jumping TOWARDS a speeding opponent. But never because the BALL is coming to his head or face.
- A GK should ALWAYS follow the ball, therefore should never wait for it with closed eyes. They practice it tens of thousands of times, so an incoming ball should not invoke this otherwise common reflex in him (the same reflex when placing contact-lenses but after some weeks the reflex dies out).
- In this situation he jumps a tiny bit, but upwards and slightly backwards, which cannot be considered as a conscious save attempt, rather a self defending reflex.
- Godin's head may have or may not have changed the trajectory of the ball, so before all he should have moved TOWARDS the ball and not elsewhere.
- The goal was almost like conceding one from a corner, which is one of the most compromising for a keeper.
- He is tall enough, so perhaps should have tried to come up and to box it out. There were NO other players between him and Godin. He stood still without moving outward, which is a mistake.
- Golden rule says the GK IS the tallest player in the box, because he can use his hands too, thus he could have prevented the header if he came out.

Was it his mistake? No. Not necessarily, but out of 10 very good keepers at least 4-5 could save it with a little luck and slightly more bravery.
