11 shots in 5 games, that isn't much tbh.
RM conceded more shots for example in last 5 Liga games (19) and conceded 1 goal in them.
AM (14) with 4 goals scored.
Sure, not every shot on target is the same, but OTOH MATS is paid like a top 3 GKs and such GK should step up when defense on shambles, not crumble with them

Being a great goal keeper should be primarily about great shot stopping, commanding your area and defense and showing authority. Distribution and passing should be last. As usual at this club we have the wrong priorities.
The goals conceded against Granada were SOFT.
Navas, Oblak, Lloris, Ederson, Allison, Mendy etc would have saved at least ONE and maybe even both attempts on goal.

I am not pro Ter Stegen, but we dont need to blame him for everything. Thats just cheap.

We don't blame him for everything. We blame him because in the last month a training dummy would've saved the same shots as he did. Everything that wasn't directed straight at him or wasn't mishit went in.
Fucking hell, read again. He got blamed for both goals vs Granada, which I strongly disagree with. Thats the point of discussion. The 2nd goal is not stoppable. The question for that goal is what the fuck the defense is doing. I dont even know with which player I would start there, they all looked terrible (and Ter Stegen the least).

He got blamed because he doesn't save anything. Have you watched Courtois save vs Chelsea? That's tougher than basically all the goals Stegen conceded in the last month. Navas saved vs Barca about 2-3 goals on his own.
Top keepers make great saves. Stegen makes nothing. He needs to be benched ASAP. I'm sure Neto would do better.

Argh, I hate this. I dont even want to take this position (defending Ter Stegen).
BUT, great keepers make great saves when its possible. No way Navas, Courtois and the likes would have saved Granadas 2nd. No way. The Timo Werner "save" is more on the attacker than Courtois as well. He even made fun of that after the game.

I've seen them make tougher saves. 1st goal Stegen puts his hands in the air like an idiot and slides with his leg as if he can't use his hands. Moronic.
You are taking this position though, defending a keeper who does nothing. A nutless monkey could do his job. Ter "not his fault" Stegen.
I understand your point, some goals are simply unavoidable. It simply doesn't apply to Stegen except in very rare cases. Most of the goals he concedes are saved by a good keeper.

Again, we are not talking about the first goal. And, heck, I dont want to get personal, but you always take these extreme positions - like BBZ and Bobo. Thats rather tiresome. As JamDav would say: I am oot.

I simply want an overrated arrogant keeper benched, then sold. If some decent team is dumb enough to touch him we should dump him on them first chance we get.Don't think even Everton would want him since Pickford is better, so even that door is shut this time.
