It is clear as day that Ter Stegen is a huge liability (at least much more of a liability than an asset) these days. Xavi and the management had to be able to see this, we really need to get someone else next season.

Was ok in the 2nd half. Pretty decent overall, but the Elche keeper was on a different level to him on the night.

Different level my ass. Never had a shot at an angle. We were shooting at him all game. Probably best one was that from Adama when he had to get down quickly. Otherwise nothing impressive but I guess it goes hand in hand with shiting mindlessly on Stegen.

Elche keeper never made a save as good as one that was needed to keep out their one goal and MATS save probably best of the lot.

Decline, for sure. He was very good in 2015, until he kicked Bravo off the starting spot. What followed was complacency since we never bothered to bring some real competition for him. That must change next summer at the latest, if not this one already, if finances permitting.

Overrated and declined. Always been horrible during setpieces and a lot of those infamouse blunders he made happened before his knee injury.

Should definitely look to upgrade the goalkeeper position.

But MATS decline was so sudden and far too early given his age

IMO he had one truly world class season, one very good one and the rest being pretty average.

We should look to upgrade on him. He's still a good GK, but we should aim higher.

There isnt the huge need to replace him as made out but would think if club got decent bid he would be gone.

Cant see where that would be though as all top teams have decent GKs.

Maybe Newcastle.
