it makes sense to do that when it concerns a short goalkeeper. His jumping reach and reflexes are not the same anymore. He will ship in a lot more goals than an average 1.9m+ goalkeeper.

It's almost exclusively GKs that are 1.92m+. Smaller GKs rely more on their athleticism with a shorter frame which is why they tend to regress worse than taller ones.
