you can be a Valdes fanboy, but you can't be blind.

Valdes had the ball for like 6 seconds before Di Maria got close to him, he had all the time to control the ball and pass with ease and comfort but ....
Or clear the ball. He needs to know when to keep possession, and when the clear the ball. Sometimes you just have to clear it, not try to dribble a forward. That's why everyone's so pissed at him. Terrible, awful decision making. He is the gk that suits Barça the most, but he needs to get this fixed.

Valdes is the best keeper for our game, his distribution is superb. He always looks for the pass even when under extreme pressure and the pass is difficult. Having a keeper that goes for the pass rather than the clearance is fine and if he has the ball under control and has time he sometimes dummies a rushing striker and that's fine too. The problem here was that he had a difficult first touch and then tried to dribble under pressure. At least it was a good moment to make a mistake at the start of the season. Lots of players are a bit rusty.

What he needs now is support and vote of confidence.

People need to calm down now. We are so blessed if our only weakness is an occasional goalkeeper fuckup. Imagine if you were a Madrid supporter. Spending € 500 million just to watch your team parking the bus, starved off the ball with 30 % possession, all your super expensive attacking players barely getting a touch, your centrebacks hoofing the ball up and on top of that having a horse like Khedira in your engine room. Is it just me or did Real Madrid create nothing from open play? A corner kick goal and a Valdes gift. Business as usual. € 500 million well spent. lulz

It's pretty obvious who here remembers the days when Barca would spend money on high profile keepers like the people on this forum are crying for. Reçber, Enke, Bonano, Baia, Hesp - remember those days, where Barca would eat highly rated keepers alive? There's a reason Valdes became first choice keeper even when he was far more erratic in his early days - because the position seemed cursed after Zubi left.

There's a reason so many teams struggle to find a first choice keeper, you just can't plug in any highly rated keeper and expect them to work well with the defense. Last times Valdes went through rough patches, on this forum and its predecessor people were crying for first Ustari - a bust who is now third choice keeper at Boca, and then Sergio Asenjo, who has been made of glass and has done almost nothing since signing for Atleti.

Typical, entitled Barca fans, since 2006 this fanbase has become a bunch of children.

Thats how desperate they are to beat us. If it means parking the bus, then they'll do it. Regardless of players like Ronaldo and Benzema on their side whom are more than capable of scoring. They're just impotent when they play Barca.

But it just shows how superior Barca are. Not even at 100 percent and still outplaying them convincingly. Should have won 4-1.

If Valdes keeps himself mistake free and we play like we did yesterday, it'll be a walk in the park.

Yesterday didn't even feel like a clasico. Felt more like a training ground exercise.

Not all of course, I'm sure there's some Valdes haters who have been fans longer than me, and some of the newer fans are great, but it's clear the sense of entitlement and obsession with big names even in goal has gotten a lot worse over the past 5 or so years.

Keepers are even more unpredictable than other positions and we have been blessed to see such a great fit as Valdes play for Barcelona during this time.

All the guys hating on Valdes because of his mistake should remember when he won us the Supercup last year in the away game vs Madrid ...
