1 - Victor Valdes

they can't afford to ignore them because of their talent and the fact that they're clearly better than the competition.

valdés will never surpass casillas, and because goalie is a specialist position and they have some good backups anyway, they can afford to leave him out of the squad altogether even if he is a clear #2.

I haven't heard of this Valdez guy, but the way he is being described by that hip-hop-happening kid, we should get rid of him ASAP.

Del Bosque does not want to upset anyone on the team and does not want to cause an unrest in the dressing room. Not because he is Catalan. Del Bosque is very, very careful with his team chemistry. He said it himself, he does not like to change the squad member even though there are some players who have hit high notes and deserve to be on the squad. Victor Valdes is not the only player who is being outsted but deserves to be on the squad.

For a while, Victor was still inconsistent and has his flapping seal moments and during then, Del Bosque has already formed his team. Victor has been consistent for a while though a goal keeper of his caliber (although not great great) shouldn't sit on the bench especially that there are decent quite back ups.

del bosque has been the manager for a year and a half.

valdés has been overlooked since 2004.

like I said, he's not on iker's level, but he's been in the top 3 spanish keepers (pushed into #3 by palop for a year or two) since 2004.

reina has amazing stats but has played for an ultra-defensive team for most of his career in the NT. since liverpool have opened up he's started conceding goals aplenty. and diego lopez was never as good as the hype suggested.

it would make more sense for VV to be the back up keeper, he has great chemistry with half of the back line and players a similar style of football at club level, that Spain plays at the international level.

DB is just being a cock, he should just come out and say i don't rate him and settle the issue instead of giving stupid excuses.

considering 3/4 of the back line is catalan and play in the metropolitan area of barcelona (two of them are his team-mates ffs) you'd think valdés being in the squad ahead of diego lopez would be a given. unsettling the squad is bull.

for me, valdés should be second choice and reina third (the dude is a mentalist and I bet he's great for squad morale).

During a time where he was inconsistent Meta whereas Reina had a combined record with Casillas for longest clean sheet. Just to let you know, I dislike Reina, I do not think he is better than Valdes, and I have criticized him a lot long ago.

Is Diego Lopez on the national team?

I have a very strong feeling had Del Bosque had 3 years, not a year and half, Valdes would have made his way into the team.

...today and like almost every matchday this season. And the best goalkeeping years are yet in front of Valdes.

i honestly cannot picture Barca without Valdes, might not be the best keeper in the world but he pops up with some amazing saves
