Valdes was probably disappointed to see that not many clubs want to sign him with a fee, and now he wants to stay and improve his chances of getting to choose which club he goes to.

I can still see Monaco taking him for 10 mil or so. Like I said, he may not plan on leaving, but the club could still decide to cash in on him. I say we do so and get ter Stegen.

Doubt it, the guy probably had his guarantees the moment he said he was going to leave Barca, he can't be that big of a cretin to not have a back up.

Well done to Valdes; he proved a lot of us - including me - wrong.

He has empowered Barca in this situation by agreeing to stay.

Barca can sell him (10 or 12 million) and buy a replacement, or they can spend what's left of any monies for transfers on a CB or two, and buy a GK next year.

i hope he leaves now so we can get money,and also bring Ter Stegen.Enough with this clown in one moment saying he will leave this summer and in the next moment he will stay until the other, its about time he leaves from the moment he wants to go, they should sell him right now

personally i totally understand his decision. his statement today seemed honest and heartful!!!

as for the club it seems difficult. do we bring in ter stegen this summer and give him one year to adapt, with valdes still here, but there is still Pinto there as well until 2014 OR do we stay with pinto and Valdes for the next season, ter stegen can have another full year of Bundesliga experience, but then we will have two new keepers at summer 2014. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO...

Valdes gave a lot to this club, he's a la masia graduate.. didn't cost us a penny! So why not leave for free if he can play one more year and give us time to find a good Gk to replace him!


The amount of hate towards Valdes in this forum is unreal! Valdes deserves more respect! #FAKEfans

I wouldn't mind him to stay another year. But the only problem is that next summer, we have to buy 2 GKs.
Valdes/Pinto will both leave. :icon_neutral:
