Messi scored in 37 games out of 60 this season.


Games where he scored:
35 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses.

Games where he didn't score:
8 wins, 11 draws, 4 losses.


Barca really need to stop depending so much on that kid : /

That stat is pretty believable given that Messi rarely scores just 1 goal. He gets 1 goal he usually gets a 2nd and a 3rd, from then no team can equalize or make a turnover.

I found this quite stunning as well. I had expected Leo to have at least twice the assists compared to Ronaldo. Another hilarious fact which occured to me from the compilation of stats is how people say Ronaldo performs for his national team compared to messi when they have basically the same goal ratio but Messi has 21 assists where Ronaldo has none.

Where does it say that? According to Soccernet, Cristiano has 6 assists with Portugal.

Cristiano assisted 36 goals for Real Madrid in the last 3 season.
average of 12 per season... Which is a normal average for a Forward,

Even RVP made 12 assists this season..

Over all Club career: Messi has 102 assists in 329 games while Cristiano 87 in 467 games !!
+ Quality of the assists is a big difference!

We all know that Cristiano is not a great playmaker, we don't have to compare him every day with Messi. I've read some stats on WhoScored.com and if we don't take the goals into consideration, Messi has more things in common with Ozil then with Cristiano.

¤ Cristiano Ronaldo Stats for Portugal in Major Tournaments:
-Euro 2004: (6 games, 2 goals, 2 assists).
-World Cup 2006: (6 games, 1 goal, 0 assists).
-Euro 2008: (3 games, 1 goal, 2 assists).
-World Cup 2010: (4 games, 1 goal, 1 assist).
Total: 19 games, 5 goals, 5 assists.

Overall (all comps including friendly games): 89 games, 32 goals, assists?

I don't have the total number of assists for Cristiano with his NT...

Anyway, there's a big difference in the quality of the assists (between Messi and Cristiano).. When it comes to quality, Messi's assists are on the level of the best play-makers nowadays (Iniesta, Xavi, Ozil, Silva, Cesc etc..) if not better :)

29 assists in a single season, most of them from a play-making position... (Most this season, and one of the best of the recent years..)
I don't remember someone reached this number in the recent years.. (Xavi reached 27+ in 2008-09)...
