come on , look at that run, hes barely faster than the referee.
He has lost some of his acceleration, but i think the main reason for that is the increase of muscle mass in his upper body, he bulked up quite a bit in the recent years.

You should watch the first group goal against Milan. Messi acceleration is just as good if not better.

Puyol the wall

The "he is not the same Messi" people have arrived whatever we show them they will not get convinced,73 goals so many assists and carrying the team by his own at times and yet guys say he is not the same as before, this world has to stop now.

Seeing the way some people talk about Messi, you would believe that he was as fast as Cristiano or Walcott at some point and the reality is that he wast never one of the fastest players in the world without the ball at his feet, especially on long distances.

To mark Messi's season or his move from PES to FIFA?

I don't see why this is a topic of discussion. If I sacrificed a fraction of acceleration for an extra 20-some goals in one season, I would do so in a heartbeat. As the case may be, I don't believe he's lost any speed or acceleration. Messi is enough of an experienced football player to know what is the optimal speed to travel in order to control the ball with utmost precision and evade defenders who are maliciously slide tackling left and right. He shouldn't/doesn't accelerate to his peak velocity.

Nothing to see here. Carry on.

 chill dude
 No prob. I just find it rather bizarre why someone has such feeling that Leo is now slower, stiffer and all around worse player than before. Even if that's true, which I don't think it is, the difference is miniscule, and which doesn't even matter if you are overall a much better player.
