I think the reason why he did not involve much during Valencia's game was because he's afraid to get injured. I think Pep instructed him to keep low profile for that game so he could be at 100% for El Classico. Just my thoughts.

^^To be fair, it was hard for him to have a good game when he had every madrid player looking to kick two shits out of him. True it wasnt his most sensational game, but i thought he played very well and was important to us pressuring madrid and eventually making the breakthrough.

messi's superb but there is something lacking in the team..!!! creativity upfront!! especially left flank(sorry guys no offence for henry) but ronaldinho was gr8 in de left flank., ofcourse none could forget what all he did in the camp nou.. hope iniesta develops into such a player. our midfield is really superb. hope keita gets 1st team oppurtunity.

All Messi needs is very little space, once he gets that he'll destroy everything. Just like the Sevilla game, he was closely marked the whole match, but scored twice at the end. Same goes here, everytime he had the ball I'd see Gago, Drenthe, and Sergio Ramos all over him. The rotation worked well though, and they eventually got tired and gave him some room to breathe !

They are a very strong team, people here may think they aren't one of the strongest team but they certainly can play football. It won't be easy. It will be our opponent in the last sixteen of Champions League and there are no easy teams.
2. Do you think referees should protect those players that are most kicked and aggressively fouled. We saw something similar on El Clasico. Would you ask referees to change their measures?
No, I won't be pleading anything. They are there to do their job in the best possible way; a lot of pressure is upon them and there is no need from us players to increase the difficulty of their work.
3. It appears like some players kick you intentionally and try to intimidate you. What are your thought?
Of course there are moments when defenders play aggressively and want to do anything to stop you but I think they don't do it on purpose.
4. What about penalties, it seems you are much more reliable than Eto'o?
It doesn't really matter who takes it; I missed one against Benidorm, so it was his turn now. We don't want to encumber any match with penalty discussions.
5. Yesterday Cannavaro suggested that you pretend a lot of times and tries to simulate to enforce the foul for your team. Cannavaro went even further on with saying that no great player like Maradona was doing something like that. What is your reaction?
I don't care, I think Cannavaro should stay focused on his team. And honestly it doesn't affect me what he thinks. I know it isn't like that so let's not talk about it.
6. On one instance Pep talked to the referee during El Clasico. He said he would substitute you if Real's players continued to kick you. Would you understand such a substitution for the sake of your protection from coach's side?
No there would be no need for something like that as the referee became more strict with the time flowing by and then it was much easier to play.
7. You said that Barca aren't favorites in any match, but isn't it clear that Barca are playing the best football in the world. I'm talking about Lyon.
I don't know, we are not beating our heads about this match. The truth is we have to prepare for the match against Villareal and then we have two months to think about this match. Hopefully, the form won't drop and we will continue to play like now.
8. In last days Cruijff said that you are the only one responsible for the amount of kicks you receive.
I don't care what he thinks; I always try to do my best for the team and what I'm asked from my team players and the coach.
