he's the best player in the world, and now that's recognised as a fact it's almost become populist and "uncool" to vaunt messi's skills. and so iniesta carries the baton for those who want to be different.

and there's also the fact that we've known messi is this good for a while, he's just had to go a season uninjured. whereas we've watched iniesta get better as the team has gotten better. and watching a rise to prominence is more rewarding a participation than watching a god descend from heaven and cockslap everyone.

plus iniesta is so awkward-looking he inspires sympathy. messi's gotten bigger and developed a cool scowl look thing.
