That was just me starting, on you go with your list then I'll go on with mine.

So you're claiming that Scotland is as good as England ? I would love to see how you try and justify that one.

If i recall correctly England didn't make it to Euro 2008 in a relatively easy group in comparison to others:
(Croatia-29, Russia-24, England-23, Israel-23, Macedonia-14, Estonia-7, Andorra-0).

Scotland were on the verge of making it in the group of death:
(Italy-29, France-26, Scotland-24, Ukraine-17, Lithuania-16, Georgia-10, Faroe Islands-0).

And last time the two nations clashed on a football pitch you lost at Wembley.

Maybe your doing well smashing weak teams, getting lucky with players being sent off against you or in friendlies but that doesn't equate to England being a force to be reconed with. You played France in a friendly a little while back and couldn't manage a single shot on target over the 90 minutes.

Are Scotland as good as England? Maybe not on paper, but that doesn't mean much. Fact is when you look back on the clashes we've had in our history the win to loss ratio is just about even. Not bad considering England have a population 12 times as big as Scotlands.

We've got better managers too ;)

P.s. where's all this comming from anyway? What exactly is your point? I said If Messi, Iniesta, and Xavi whitewashed the awards it could be funny because nobody from the; "best league in the world" Priemier League would be represented and you decide to have a dig at Scotland?

I didn't say we were better but you said you could write a list 5 times as big as that. You won a World Cup when the referees where favouring you and that's it. Well said divinevisitor. And yes we do have better managers. Infact if it weren't for Shamkly, Busby and Ferguson, English football would be half what it is.

The best ever Scottish team would beat the best ever english team.

I mean come on you have Law and Dalglish up front!!. Souness in the middle, Johnstone out wide, Hansen and Baxter at the back. What a spine!!!!!!

I don't know where that came from, but you may have a point.

but then england have greaves, hunt, sir bobby, robbo, should be sir bobby, foulkes and banksy, which is probably better. and then you have sir stanley out-wide to match up with jinky.

and of course you can't discount that england were robbed of tommy taylor and duncan edwards (to name two) by munich.

but it'd be one hell of a match, that's for sure.

Being a tad arrogant aren't you?

I'd agree with Meta it would be a hell of a game. No doubt it would be tight between the sides and you only need to look at the history of clashes between the nations to see that. There's not much to choose between them on a win/lose basis and like i said considering England have 12 times Scotland's population we do damn well for ourselves.
