Why would anybody would care about Menotti saying that Pele is the greatest ever in Messi's thread? You know it's going to start the same argument as last time.

I click on that link read interview and see that quote from Menotti

Anyway Messi had a fantastic game vs Costa Rica! Shame he didn't score though. But he could have had 5 assists easily.

I was a bit diappointed to see him go down easily in the box in the first half looking for a penalty. It looked as if DiMaria has been trying to influence him or something. But he then redeemed himself in the 2nd half when he could have gone down but managed a falling through ball.

There is no reason for Messi to score for this team. Switching to 4-2-3-1 with Messi as the playmaker was brilliant. Kun and Di Maria are going to convert plenty of those perfect Messi passes. There is so much attacking talent on this squad, someone will step up to deserve to be the other starter, maybe they should try Milito next. Gago is a big improvement. This new lineup should be able to outscore any other team in this tournament, though they will leave Romero to be the hero too often.
