Overall Maradona's passing was better, BUT Messi made huge strides in his passing last season. He's not actually THAT far from Maradona's passing level anymore. He will almost certainly keep improving on this with age, so it's possible he will equal Maradona in this.

What is this bs? Maradona's passes have nothing on Messi's... Seriously Leo haters?! Come up with something better (no drug jokes ofc)

Haven't watched Maradona but Messi's passing is fucking unreal

As if I've seen him live either, but I've watched around hundreds of compilations of him. And pretty much every every touch or pass he's had in world cup matches. I know youtube is not the best source to judge players consistency on but that's the only thing we have right now. And from what I've read and watched Maradona is in his own group and rest of the players on the other.

etc. You can find compilations on most of his matches. It can't replace watching live matches, but a decent amount should give you a rough estimation of his talent and how good he was. At least it beats people speaking crap out of the ass.

This is not hating on Messi; I think his passing is actually one of the best in the world right now. We saw a great example of this today for the 2nd goal. HOWEVER, Maradona's passing was one of the best in football history. The man averaged an assist every 2 games in his club career, while playing generally with less than clinical finishers, and generally in an era/league of incredible defenses (I know a good portion of his club career was in Argentina so he wasnt exactly playing against the best defenses then, but in Napoli, he certainly was). He also had 47 assists in 91 international games. Last season, Messi was insane with his 24 assists in 55 games, but that's still not quite at Maradona level.

Messi isn't even the 3rd best passer in our team. That's not a blight on Messi because he's a striker not a playmaker.Nobody expects that from him. However set pieces is a different matter. He was the greatest freekick specialist .

Who do you put ahead of him? Xavi and Iniesta obviously. Who's the third? Busquets? Fabregas? I think one could definitely argue that he was our 3rd best passer last season; Busquets is a phenomenal passer, though so idk.

How old are you 12? That statement is ridicilous.

No I'm 11.. cmon every1 has his own oppinion and my differs from most of u guys. But seriously Maradona's through balls were agains uber slow defenders, badly structured teams and they werent exacly correct most of the time.

+ Most of Leo's briliant passes are done while he is runing full speed or skiping past defenders.

And he was doing it with those short-shorts riding up his crotch too. Incredible.

I think Messi is just as good though, and he seems a better overall person...

Fabregas is the most creative passer in the world, yup better than Xavi and Iniesta atthat And I don't even like Fabregas. Xavi is the best passer, meaning he always chooses the right passes. And Iniesta while not as good as both of them at passing, is better than Messi.

Messi is perhaps the best low through ball passer in our team. But his overall passing is not as creative as xavifabini. So comparing his passing with maradona is downright ridiculous.
