I don't agree with you or the guy below you. Saying a player should just improve what he's best at instead of sharpening the other aspects of his game is exactly what makes the difference between a great player and a player whose name echoes through the ages.

Maradona was the type of player that wanted to make himself look good and was so talented that it was usually enough to make his team win. He is the type of player Cristiano Ronaldo is. Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldino (all happen to be brasilian, weird?!) are unforgetable, brilliant players who individually stood out and barely had any faults, if any; however integrated with other players on a very high level as well.

Back to the point, saying Messi should only improve his strengths is a terrible idea. His dribbling/dexerity are out of this world, but if he can smoke 3-4 guys but not hit the back of the net or lay off the ball correctly then what is the point? Don't get me wrong, Messi is the best player in the world in my eyes, and is good at shooting/passing/dribbling, has vision and integrates great with the other players. He IS a COMPLETE footballer. However, improving his right footed shot and dribbling, along with a little pass work and head balls, would make him a much better player than further improving his strengths (speed, dribbling, balance). I'm confident he has the ability to do so as well.

It's not to say he shouldn't improve on certain aspects. It's that he doesn't need to improve on his 'weak' aspects to be considered complete. He is weak at many things. As i said he cant throw the ball a long way, he cant be a goalkeeper, he can't use his right foot the way he can use his left foot. But he has enough in his locker to be considered "compelte" as it is.

In fact you agreed with both myself and sammy when you said "He IS a COMPLETE footballer. However, improving his right footed shot and dribbling, along with a little pass work and head balls, would make him a much better player than further improving his strengths (speed, dribbling, balance)."

Thank you maz for representing on my behalf :D That's true cooter, all the words that maz wrote. I know he still can develop further. But right know I'm just wishing that he won't get serious injury that would cause him trouble, like owen. God...hope not. And don't use crack like diego did, but i strongly believe leo is better than diego, at least in handling stress and pressure. And I believe he's not maradona.

Hope for the best for leo. Even right know, with all his weaknesses, i believe he's beyond any player in this present time.

Maradona problems stemed from events from his childhood... Messi came up from much diff cercumstances and also had to struggle with that sickness (hormone deficency) and that formed him into the humble guy that he is today..

messi seems shy now sometimes, but when he was a kid in grade school he was a class clown and always the fav of classmates i know he will never become anything like maradona did with the drugs and what not, bc he is much moire down to earth and a family person.
