Most league away goals in a season (38 games): 23, Cristiano Ronaldo (2011–12)
Most league matches scored in a season (38 games): 27, Cristiano Ronaldo (2011–12)

How far is Messi from breaking these now?

He has scored in 20/24 so he needs 7/14 to tie or 8/14 ton break the record. It's hard to see him not breaking it. He needs to scoredagainst Sevilla and celta Vigo to tie CR's record of scoring against every team in a season. Then he will have eliminated all of CR's la liga records that I can think of. The only other one I can think of is scoring 40 plus goals in consecutive seasons and at this rate Messi will do 50 plus.

Yeh, unfortunately Ronaldo will take the record for fastest to 150 La Liga goals and 200 (If he remains in La Liga).

By the time Messi is done with him, Ronaldo's only remaining records will be his Real Madrid/Manchester United ones.

exactly, if you visit the madrid forum you can see every after match they now only post Real Madrid records like saying.. Ronaldo is now the 10th or 8th top scorer of the club. they no longer mention other records because almost all of it was beaten by Messi already.

what they always mention now is, Ronaldo now has more goals than Messi in 2013. lol it's still February.

You have to be selective as Real Madrid fan when debating Ronaldo vs. Messi, since Leo is superior.

Good performance, much better than in his last ones (but the opposition was not the same). Some wasted chances but still 2 brilliant goals, beautiful combinations and a little more motivated. In short, we have seen worse.

First half he was creating everything, second half he stayed in a slightly more advanced role, got two goals, and had Iniesta, Pedro and Tello (in particular) been less selfish, he'd have had three or four.

True but Messi has the record for been the youngest to 150, 200 goals etc. I think telmo Zara had the record previously at 29 years old, 4 years and 135 days older. At that age Messi could have 400 at this rate.

To put Messi's scoring feats into perspective: he's currently "only" 8th on the all-time top scorer list in La Liga, but already 2nd in amount of away goals (5 behind Hugo Sánchez).
