Couple more against Celta and Germany. I love see Messi doing this like I love seeing him dribble, he does it like no-one else, with such ease and control.

Loved the way he pressured last night. Looks very motivated and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us this season. :)

Martino: "Messi starting the pressing is important for the team. He's not just putting a bit of pressure, he really wants that ball."

Del Piero (ex-Juventus): "Playing with Messi or Ronaldo? Perhaps with Leo because we're the same height... But Cristiano is great too" [gds]

Do you know who leads after six, seven, eight seasons as well? That would show us who the best consecutive long term scorer was.
You could add those, but it isn't really any more declarative because others career is still on going.

:worthy:

Only game day 1. Still 37 other matches to break other records.

We dont need him to break personal records. We need him to press like a man possessed and still be fit for the latter stages of the season. This means plenty of resting, and no more 65 full matches per season with little pressing and lots of personal records.

I'm not sure if you noticed but his record breaking stats last year brought us home a La Liga title. Breaking more records is good for the team as it shows he is keeping up his incredible form. His records and our success go hand in hand.

This.

Even if he was fully fit last season , I don't think we would have won the CL. He was basically alone in the offensive line due to the poor form of the other players.
