Well he is about to hit his football prime, lets not make this seem so far away, he's not 24,23,22,21,20 anymore, that's really young in comparison to 26... that's what I meant. Usually player's prime start from 26-28, so Messi is as close as it gets, what, do you see Leo playing this amazing when he's 30? I highly doubt so:lol:
Dear lord. Ribery is almost 31. Messi will be awesome for a long time.

Barsa certainly hasn't looked as if they could win CL this year, but I honestly don't see Messi leaving this club if they don't, I could see him leave if our team goes to consecutive years of winning nothing, but that's highly unlikely.

Leo is not that young anymore, so if Barsa stops winning would you guys blame him if he leaves?

I would be extremely upset and disappointed if he decides to leave, I will still wish him well and follow him, but not to the extent when he is with us.

Come on guys, why are we even discussing this? Messi is Barca.

Because people think graham hunter is reliable... He's the one who said dongou was better than messi, when dongou was 17, and he also accused Xavi of doping once.

Since when is Messi old, or a title mercenary? "If Barça stops winning" what, the cl? Barça won't stop being a competitve team, or winning trophies.
"Competitive" and "winning" are two different things, people only remember who ends up in 1st place, sadly that's how life is. I was just mentioning the most highly unlikely scenario, the one I don't see happening, the Barsa trophy-less.

How do you know he's not a title mercenary? Even if he's humble, I'm pretty sure he has a huge ego, and would like to win as much as possible, for himself and his perspective team.

Of course there's the exceptions, I'm pretty sure Leo will lay his heart out here until it doesn't beat anymore.

Not necessarily though. Each player hits the peak at a different time/age, there is no guarantee that Messi will be just like Ribery, who is a late boomer.

I tend to think Messi has hit his peak already, but he is not going downhill drastically just yet, he still has many years left in him working wonders, provided that he is healthy.

Regardless of whether he has hit his peak or not, I don't see why Messi might want to leave. We might not be the best team right now, but we are still a powerhouse, we can still make things happen.

Messi is talented enough to be the worlds best midfielder, cm or am, when he loses pace. He wont forget how to pass or give thru balls, or lose his vision. So yeah, he will be awesome until he retires.

Cr is not winning much in rm, do you see him wanting to leave? With Messi, that scenario is even more ridiculous.

Players start to decline from where they used to be, it will happened to Leo whether we like it or not, when Leo's 30, I'm not saying he'll be some old geezer, but at that age we'll most likely see a more calm approach from him, he has to, so he could extend his career even more, we'll still witness some of those amazing bursts of speed he has, but not as often.

Doesn't mean we won't see anything more amazing from anymore, because we will.

You are contradicting yourself now. 30 is not old enough for someone as talented as Messi. He's not your average great player, his talent will make him stay as one of the best for a long time.

CR already left Manu, but the problem with that comparison, is that CR honestly, will never be as good as Leo, nor will he ever see the game as him

Leo is so used to being at the top, top with Barcelona, top individually, always used to having Ronaldo and RM at the bottom of his shoe

We don't exactly know how he would react if that wasn't happening anymore.

Yeah he'll have a different approach to the game, but he won't have the same quickness as he did before.

Leo in Pep's era is long gone at that age, one that I'll sorely miss.

Barca are top of the league after winning 4 of the last 5 titles. If Messi stays fit in the new year it'll be 5 out of 6.

All this talk based on Graham Hunter who was telling the world that Thiago to Man Utd was a done deal.

He doesnt have a clue and wrote that to get attention like he has here.

Bayern couldnt afford him.

How do you get that idea?

Aside from the fact that Hoeneß already said that they are not in for Messi and never have been, but please do tell, why would Bayern, in theory, be unable to pay for Messi?
