Calma, calma
But Messi played CB. How did he score 3? I have evidence:

Your job's not done until you post it on twitter and make some superfluous conclusion.

The guy brought us so much joy over the years. I follow Barca for about 20 years and although they always had spectacular players i can`t remember so much dominance. I won`t say he is the best ever for sure. There is Maradona, Pele, Cruyff...all of them were of similar level to Messi. But no one can dispute that his talent is one of a kind and for sure the best in last 20 years. Today with internet and everything it seems like people expect players to be robots and dominate literally every game they play. But they are human beings, with their problems and feelings. I can`t even imagine how much pressure Leo feels with the whole world expecting him to show godlike performance every game. Just think of World Cup with Argentina. He was one of their best players and they made it to the final. But after the tournament everybody was criticising him and for what? Because he didn`t take the ball and dribble past everyone and scored? Real life isn`t a video game.

Maybe I sound pathetic, I don`t know. I love football and follow it for over 20 years now and Leo is one of the best things that sport gave to us in its entire history. So #siempremessi

you have watched a lot of football, but i genueniely think, messi and this ronaldo are the best two players ever to play the sport. and still have years to go. pele ,maradona etc etc they are were exceptional no doubt, i think we will soon have best player awards renamed to like ballon de messi and ronaldo award.

One of the biggest ronaldo achievement is, when you say ronaldo, christiano comes to mind and that ronaldo is the other guy now.

Posts like your's are why I feel cr7 will piggyback on Messi's legacy as the goat. There are at least 10//15 players better footballers than him, you wont see gerd müller, romario or Eusebio in these goat lists, and for good reason.
Last sentence is due to marketing, Cristiano cant hold Ronaldo's (96-99) jockstrap.

I think what's really striking about Messi & C.Ronaldo is their consistency. At the beginning of last season, there was a consensus that CR was bound to decline because his playing style relied so much on his athleticism which was bound to decline with age; now look where he is now. But if we're talking about beast mode/talent ceiling then CR trails Ronaldo, IMO. Ronaldo had Messi-esque stats (34 goals in 37 games) when he was even younger than Messi –although Messi was a RWF not a CF like him at the same age– but he got wrecked by injuries, and then lost his drive. Had he been able to replicate his first season with Barca and then take it to the next level –which is not that far fetched considering that he was only 20 – he would've been a strong contender for GOAT status.

I don't know if you can put Ronaldo in Messi's class. When you evaluate a player, you evaluate the player's entire career. Taking into account goals, assists, dribbles... Ronaldo is simply not in Messi's class, or many other great players. Ronaldo is simply a historic goal scorer, one of the best there ever is. But Messi is beyond that.

Messi is only 9 assists away from breaking Liga's record, and he will break CL's record for assists too. When all said and done, he will hold records for goals and asists for both league and CL. When both retire, it's going to be pretty laughable when you compare their stats and accomplishments and think Ronaldo was in Messi's league.

But this Ronaldo is other-worldly. What he is doing right now is historic in terms of goal scoring. But to me, what makes Messi the legend that he is is beyond goal scoring. His assists, his vision, his dribbles, his ability to dissect defenses... I rarely see Ronaldo do those things on a consistent basis.

I think Ronaldo has the hype right now b/c of his scoring prowess, and it's justifiable. 25 goals in all games in this season is historic.

But again, watch him play. Watch some of Madrid's games. Compare his play to Messi. Even if Ronaldo is scoring at that pace, he's not better than Messi. Ronaldo had 2 goals and 1 assists v. Eibar. but he wasn't even the best player on the pitch.

It's like Neymar is scoring more than Messi so far, but he nowhere has the impact that Messi does. Messi is a complete player.

I think it's quite simple. Look at what both players bring to the side. Ronaldo has become a poacher, now heavily reliant on the service he gets to make an impact on the game. Playing for the current European champions, he's getting a fair bit of it. If he doesn't score, he barely justifies a place in that side.

Messi, on the other hand, scores, assists, is a playmaker, commits defenders. Even if he doesn't score, 9 times out of 10 he's one of the best players on the pitch.

Zarra's daughter: "Messi didn't break the record. It will be beaten when someone scores 251 goals in 267 matches, Messi needed 280 matches."´

 So bitter ..or she must be a penaldo fan. Either way, it's quite embarrassing.

Is this legit? She first said she wanted Messi to break it, because she liked him...

if it's true, this so much nonsense. The game evolved a lot, it was easier to score back then. I think I saw something here on this thread saying Messi has a better minutes permgoal ratio as well. The record is beaten, and by the time Messi retires, it won't be even close.
