Don't forget some brilliant passes he made last night. He can send the ball through 2 lines of defence easily.
Now we need establish total domination in the midfield. Yesterday we saw glimpse of that. If we can manage that, with a bit of luck we can reach every trophy. Yes, a bit too soon to tell and still under the impression, but we have an arsenal for it.
Let's see how next few games will go.

Hopefully when Iniesta returns, his dominant form returns. WE need him badly to reach our potential.

Now that Messi has broken another record, there are a few more for him to overtake:

1) 12 more goals to break Argentina's all-time record of 56

2) 4 more hat tricks to break Liga's record of 22

3) 17 CL's goals in a campaign (held by Ronaldo)

Trophies that still elude him: World Cup and Copa America.

He still has unfinished business!!!

His dribbling was pretty sloppy last night. However, to the media goals are are all that matter. I've seen Messi have better games than last night, but because he scored a hat-trick that game was his finest of the season?

I just hope the hat-trick gives him a boost in confidence which will see him finish the chances he gets. Before the Sevilla game, he missed 25 clear chances this season, the most of any player in the top 5 leagues.

Honestly, unlike last season he is getting a lot of chances. His finishing has just been poor. Hopefully this is a turning point.

So in 16 games he got 14 goals, 10 assists, many chances created, key passes, dribbles and what not. All that without getting any help from the midfield and having the burden of creating almost all alone most of the time.

But yeah, of course. Sell the guy, he has declined. :coffee:

Oh yeah, and he has apparently been shit in most of the games according to a few geniuses around here.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
It's obvious messi was held back from stress concerning the records.
Remember the 2nd half against ajax when he scored, he seemed like a different player on the field.
Yesterday after he scored his first it was clear that his old finishing returned at once.
He will go nuts after this, 50+ goals ez.

Hopefully. Leo needs to get his scoring back up if he wants to win the Ballon D'Or. 2 records, his WC performances and everything else this year should win it, but then we have that guy Cristiano who scores 2 every game and makes it look easy.

The voting has been closed on Friday though, right before Messi breaking the record.

I didn't get to see the game but I saw the highlights. It was the perfect way for him to break the record; a hat trick in front of his own fans after the week of negativity in the press about his situation at Barca.

Here's to many more years of Leo at the club :beer2: It has honestly been one of the great joys of my life to watch this guy develop since he broke through years ago. I always knew he'd be the best in the world but he has exceeded what anyone can expect from a footballer.

But Messi played CB. How did he score 3? I have evidence:
