note: referee lied in his report saying bottles thrown didn't have a cap, while he was pictured with one with a cap

Sigh... I don't think there's hope for spanish refs. Dumb, blind or corrupt?

Valencia stated they'll ban for life the fan who threw the bottle, if they can identify him: http://www.valenciacf.com/ver/39346/comunicado-oficial.html

I love how the ref makes sure to point out that there was no caps on the bottles being thrown, as if that is relevant in any way. Okay, so if there was no cap on the bottle is Messi no longer allowed to feel pain from being hit? And him bleeding must be considered an optical illusion and trickery of physics then? I mean, how dare he start bleeding and wasting time tending it when the bottle had no cap! Spanish refs are reaching a new level of stupidity and/or corruptness...

And to make it even better, there actually was a cap on the bottle.

I want to snipe the sucker who did that. Also seeing this pic. I want to hug Messi. So, snipe then hug....or the other way, doesn't matter.

Now you guys know how I feel when Pathetico's fans threw a lighter at CR.

Aren't capped bottles forbidden within the stadium ? Might explain why both club & ref said there was none.

Someone should teach them that photography is 150 years old

I know people dont like when i say it, but Messi had a very poor game in my opinion. But so did the whole team.
Kinda bad then Pique is one of our best players, and Busi is the one to score :shakeshead:

Messi needs alot of support to do his thing, something he doesnt get at all with this shitty midfield (both players and tactics are quite weak in midfield)

But hey, according to Lucho we "played a good game" :lucho:
You have to thank Lucho for almost singlehandedly neutralizing Messi. Playing a double pivot that looked nothing like a double pivot and then not fielding an AM to boot meant that not only did we not have a midfield but that Messi had to fill that creativity gap instead of providing a bigger threat upfront, which IMO would've been enough to convincingly win us this game.

That midfield didn't help him at all and as for that fucking embarrassment Alves.

So much is relied on MSN to win games. We have nothing else.

He had to drop deep and it's tough then against packed, organised defences. The only thing I thought he should have been was more selfish. He had chances to shoot in the first half but kept passing and it'd break down.

It's really sad when things like this happen. These lighters, bottles and shit could easily hit one of the players in the eye or something and do unrepairable damage. In my personal opinion stuff like this should be punishable by a year in prison.
