The amount of people who come and say Messi is the better one is crazy. Ronaldo's only ones are compatriots or club partners. Even there you have those who pick Messi. It must get to Ronaldo somehow. But it's clear as day just watch them play forget about goal scored or whatnot just watch them play by play on the field you cannot pick clumsy Ronaldo over Messi masterful perfomance.

If all you think is about scoring goals, then sure you can say Ronaldo is better than Messi now (career stats, Messi still beats him by a wide margin goals ratio per game).

If you talk about overall ability (goals, dribbles, passing, take-ons...), Messi beats Ronaldo by a WIDE WIDE WIDE margin now, last year, career, and will forever. Ronaldo simply doesn't possess the skills that Messi does.

People who watch football know that. But people who think football is all about scoring goals (and there are a lot of people like that) will claim there is a debate, which there shouldn't be.

So has he stopped vomiting?

Haven't heard anything about it in a while and now he's running more.

Yes. I think his fitness is back. During one of the matches, one of the commentators stated that he has re-hired his old trainer to live in his house to help him regain his form.

That explains alot everygame he seems to be a little sharper, a little faster. His dribbling against PSG was the best its been all season imo in the first half. He went past 3-4 players multiple times and if the system was more refined we probably would've torn PSG apart.

His best dribbling game was vs Croatia. But the consistent GOAT performances are there now. He has been superb ALL season, but will have that one "off" game every 3-4 games. But he's been GOAT status for 5-6 games running. Hopefully he keeps it up. We need it if we want to win everything we set out to win, as we do have quite a few flaws on the team. So we do need Messi in god mode.

I think last night was one of the most mature performances have ever seen from Messi.

He dropped back to dictate the pace of the game. The intensity of Barcas play was virtually on the toes of Messi. If the team needed to up the pace he would drop deep and drive at PSG. If the pace needed slowed down Messi dropped deep and slowed it down.

Maybe the Messi of the past that would drive at defence every time he got it was slightly more exciting to watch but Messi now is becoming more complete in how much he can control the game.

Credit to Lucho for that as he is giving Messi the responsibility and freedom on pitch to do that.

He really is in his element at the moment, makes the impossible look simple.

Just so far ahead of everyone in football that there's not a debate to be had tbh.

That acceleration at his goal...incredible. He was great but as I said the double pivot gets him isolated way too often.

Just back from Barcelona, it was a pleasure to see him score. He has a touch of class about him that no one else on the field has. Watching live I really had an appreciation for how far back he drops and how much he dictates out game. There were quiet moments but this was more to do with the team than Messi himself.

As much as this heat map is impressive it also points to Lucho's shortcomings as a manager. And despite of that he manages to score fuck load of goals and who knows how many woodworks. Sheer brilliance.

How does the heat map point to that? The heat map says he gave messi a free role to play wherever he thinks is the best to play in the current phase of the game, like every other coach before him.
