I think he was saving himself for the world cup and I think he will prove it by dominating the tournament.
He had a bad injury and wanted to make sure he was fully fit for the world cup,I don't blame him for easing of because he is at his peek (26) he knows his best chance of leading Argentina to the world cup is now.
Next season injury free, Normal service will resume with Messi at FC Barcelona.
