The one in the pic is the new kitman. "Chema" (actually Txema Corbella) was the previous one, let go without a explanation after decades with the team.

The explanation given in press at time for letting go previous kit man was that Luis Enrique requested it as players were becoming too comfortable in the dressing room and wanted to freshen things up a bit.

The kitman was offered other roles in the club on the exact same money.

No idea if true but the press at time said that Lucho felt the dressing room had become more of a social area than an area of work and wanted that changed.

'Too comfortable' is referred to a lot in the UK if footballers are coasting and having an easy time of it.

I see, but I don't see how changing the kitman would change things around, unless the previous kitman was a "social magnet" that affected adversely the atmosphere of the dressing room?

I dont think getting rid of the kitman would totally solve that but maybe taking the players back out their comfort zone in a new environment is what Lucho was after.
