There recently was a poll on my local forum, who was better currently, Aguero or Messi, Aguero won by a landslide, since Messi is terrible compared to his prime according to everyone, then you see this game, and he is still a million leagues above anyone on that team.

I would never have thought that "Messi" and "underrated" could appear in the same sentence, but sadly, that is the reality nowadays.

People are so damn spoiled by Messi, anything short of that out-of-this-world level makes him so much worse than the likes of Ronaldo (and Aguero??).

Vergini, Fazio, Ansaldi, Masch, Banega and Zabaleta have all been shocking. I can see that he wants to give everyone a go, I just don't understand why the two centre halves particularly I mentioned are even in the squad.

If the scoreline stays the same and Messi doesn't score or assist, you know what people are going to say: Messi is soooooooo over.

And as soon as Ronaldo scores that easy tap-in after disappearing for 80 minutes, he is going to come away with a 9.9 score and everyone thinks he is the best.
