Lol, they are not alike. Some basic human social experience should be enough to realize that.
Ronaldo is not extremely talented, in fact he's not far above an average professional champions league level football player with above average speed, jump, shoot from distance and far above average work ethic and ego.
On the other hand, Messi is just pure talent, brilliance with an average work ethics and ego. Yes he likes records, but he's not addicted to a vision of himself as being the god of football like that twat is. He doesn't put himself above the team like that prick does.
I'll never forget what Ronaldo said after the whole stadium was chanting "Leo Messi" couple of years ago when RM played against Dinamo Zagreb: "They are jealous because I'm rich and beautiful".
For fuk sake, he's so dumb to actually say that. How come you never ever heard any idiotic statements from Leo?

You can't get this far without talent and anyone who saw him play as a 17 year old can testify to the fact that he was and is very talented, not at the level of Messi or even close, but still.
And both are hard working. You can't get this far solely on your talent or hard work/determination.
I don't get these rubbish theories about one of them being talented and one a hard worker.
There have been MANY talented player, probably some more talented than Messi, BUT they never reached greatness because they either did not have it mentally or were working hard.
There have been many hard workers, fitness freaks and what not, BUT they have still not been 1/4 of the player Cristiano is, BECAUSE hard work can only take you this far.
Its not limited to football, but most sports, in most things.

Even a huge Messi fan like myself think this is way too much. Denying Ronaldo's talent is silly. The guy may not be as talented as Messi, but still he is very, very talented. You can't be like Ronaldo and do what he does every day just with a big ego and with just above average qualities.

While Cristiano might be driven by individual success and Messi not, I am sure as hell Messi absolutely loves to be the best, want to be the best, want to hear that he is the best and loves individual trophies which shows that he is the best, because, to become to the best, you need to possess the mentality to be the best.
And Cristiano and Messi have different skill sets and they work hard to enhance their talent in different ways, but they are both very competitive. Both want to be the best, in every training session, in every game, in every season.
