Assuming he wont get injured, thats basically the problem a bit. We Always assume he will do the same or better in next seasons but its hard to predict.
Look at 2013/14, you wouldnt predict those type stats compared to the two years before that.
Same you wouldnt guess that he would do so much better this season.
In my mind a guy like Messi should score 50+ a season with 20+ assists for it too be great individually in regards to stats. After 30 it will be harder and harder to reach those goal stats, but his assists might go 30+
Sure, there is always a risk of getting injured.
But we have to remember, this is Messi we are talking about.
As for goalscoring, many people keep saying that 2011-12 (1.26 per 90 min) was his absolute peak, while I say 2012-13 (1.33 per 90 min). Had he not gotten injured, he would have beaten his 50 goals in La Liga & 73 goals in a season records, so yes, you can never know.
Now, while this year has been incredible, I fully expect him be even better next season, and it basically comes down to this.
- He is now 100% back to his old form.
- Him and the team will be full of confidence, after getting back on track and winning trophies.
- Suárez will be playing an even bigger part of next season. He has played 3439 minutes this season, which translates to 38 x 90 & 19 min. All in all (if we don't count those 3 early Copa del Rey matches), then he have missed 17 x 90 & 71 min. So almost 18 games -or 32% of the season.
- Neymar will also play a bigger part next season, he has played 4014 minutes this season, which translates to 44 x 90 & 54 min. In other words, he has missed 11 x 90 & 36 min. Around 20% of the season.
- Enrique now have his strongest 11, which he didn't have before January.
- Barca will be playing more games next season.
- Messi will likely win another Ballon d'Or, so that should also help his confidence
