Yeah, because individual (often bogus) awards and gloryhunting is above support of your club.

I don't want him to go. I think it's unbelievable that we've let him get to the last year of his contract.

From his point of view he'd be within his rights to wonder if should carry on carrying this team just to put loads of chances on a plate for people to fuck up, have a midfield that creates nothing, leaving him having to do it all, and a poor defence.

He has enough crap to put up with at Argentina, he deserves so much better than this shit show and watching Penaldo win the big trophies and the ballon d'or off the back of other peoples hard work while he has to do it all just to come away empty handed. It's not fair.

How can people say Messi still has the pace and acceleration lol Did you even watch him when he was 17-25? Even at 28 he didn't have the pace he used to have. He's turning 30 in a few months, slowing down is just science. It's not baseball where a player gets better with age.

Over the first 10 yards he's still incredibly fast, not like when he is younger, but still far above average. However he doesnt have the pace once he gets going to run by players like he used to. If he did, he'd still be doing it. Add to that a fear of aggrivating one of those nagging injuries and you have the 2017 Messi. Some may not like it, but it's the truth.

What we need is a coach that admits that and has the balls to rebalance the team while considering that. We need a new RW, play Messi at RCM and buy a defensive RB to balance that side, someone who can preferably play LB too.

This is the first step to fixing our team. Need to carefully rethink the other two midfield positions. If we kept Busquets, we'd need a pacey, energetic midfielder who can do it all and get back for counter attacks...and we definitely don't have any of those.

Best position for Messi is False 9. But we abandoned that style of playing....

False nine stopped working as well when teams worked out the best way to limit it. By end it looked outdated and needed changed even if Messi still got great numbers.

Messi still got decent haul of goals and assists but stopped being so effective in the biggest games even when he had Xavi and Iniesta to drop deep and start plying with.

Dont want to go back to that.

Messi playing up front in this team is pointless as he wouldn't get the ball. He has to come deep to do everything himself.

Nobody is talking about him playing false 9, i'm talking about him playing behind Suarez in the centre as a nr 10/AM (or even as a second forward) in a 3-4-3 or a 4-2-3-1.
