Pains for me to come to the realization that we may only have five years of Messi left.

But for not that long ago it was still unclear when he would return to Argentina - now we know we will still have Messi 5 years more and thats great.

All that second grade plastic surgery must have fried his brain. He cannot even remember what he said weeks ago.

Unless Messi decides to go back to RW for some inexplicable reason next season, our new manager either has to change the 4-3-3 formation or leave the right flank empty again like Lucho has been doing for the past 1.5 seasons. Under this current system Messi is listed as a RW but actually drifts behind Suarez for the entire match, leaving our right side completely exposed with only a novice RB Roberto to cover its entirety. I don't see how the 4-3-3 can continue to be used if Messi wants to continue playing in the middle as a CAM.

There are three options:

1. Messi decides he wants to go back to RW (Not likely given his age)
2. We sell Suarez and play Messi as a False 9 again (Again not likely since teams would just man-mark him out of games)
3. We change our formation and buy a new RW (The most feasible, but it would mess up our entire system)

Whoever our new manager is, he has to sort out this situation quick if we want to reach the heights we previously have as a club, leaving an entire wing open causes an imbalance in our formation which other teams can exploit and makes us more one-dimensional going forward. I have no idea how Lucho was comfortable running this system for the better part of one and a half seasons.

TV3 reports a 30M € wage / year in his new contract until 2022.

That is a hell of a wage, but it is hard to argue with it when Zlatan makes 22M/year, and he has to be compensated to be at Barca - we don't have the best squad in the world, and make stupid decisions at board-level, so the pride of being a one-club player might not get the extension all the way.

Our wage-level are incredibly high, but Messi is not the place to start adjusting it.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
He does the job of 4 or 5 players, he is basically our front line and midfield, so yeah 30 million sounds about right... A bargain if you ask me...

The money Messi generates for Barcelona is higher than his salary for sure. Worth every penny.

Neymar and Suarez' salaries on the other hand a bit too high IMO, and then we have the likes of Vermaelen, Douglas and others we're paying too. Braida that useless dinosaur as well.

Let's hope juve can hold off ronaldo and at the same time prevent madrid to celebrate their 12th.

That way, top scorer will still be Messi and also Madrid will lose one trophy.

If that's the case and Madrid only won liga (We won copa), then the Bdor is more on Messi's favor, becoming the ultimate goal scorer of half of 2017. Closest rival may come from Juve though, either Dybala or Buffon perhaps.

If above scenario is not working (Madrid win Champions and Liga), ronaldo will be on top, regardless of him becoming top scorer or not.

If we won liga instead and madrid lost the final, Messi is most definitely be on top, far ahead of anyone else.

But then all also depends on 2nd half pf 2017.

Neymar also generates lot of money for Barca apparently, there is lot of marketing hype behind him. It seemed to die down in last year though.
