10 - Lionel Messi - v5

I realize that next season is probably the most important year of his career: Neymar is gone, Iniesta looks like he's done, Suarez already declining, you can buy Dembele who is an amazing player but still very very young and he's not exactly a scoring machine so everything could be on Messi shoulders, yeah he carried us already in the past years but now is totally another thing, not only as a player but as a leader. The haters are already with the AK-47 to say that without Neymar Messi will struggle so bad. Then in june he will play probably his last world cup, his last chance to win with NT. I think considering the contest of team and NT Messi in his career has never been in such difficult situation, totally the opposite of Cristiano fox example.

He is gonna have to carry this season even harder. I think last season this team was just all on Messis shoulders, I doubt we would have reached europa league without him, Neymar half of the season and Suarez performances were just sad, not gonna even talk about midfield.
If he wants to put it in the stone that he is the best player ever, he is gonna have to get us a treble all by himself and then win the world cup, I hope Sampaoli can help make the whole Argentina team besides Messi not look like useless garbage.
I know Messi is already the best ever, but people in the future will see that someone from his era has as many balon dors and has better CL knockout stage goals, people will see the trophies and numbers, that is whats gonna decide it for them.

Why people have to look at those boring numbers while tons of great videos about the GOAT in action are already available on YouTube? Common this is the 21st century, even my 6 yrs old cousin knows how to use iPad to watch clips on YT. People normally prefer motion pictures over words or numbers cuz they re more entertaining and m sure that not many people after watching both M10's career compilations an CR7's taping comps d say CR7 is the better player.

Btw, I became a Barca fan and started to watch Barca's games also because of watching those stuffs

And what do you see in those youtube comps? That is the worst way to look at it, Pogba looks like the best player in history if we are looking at some youtube comps.

I have come to the same conclusion. People claim in the end only the won prizes will be remembered. And then there are cases where legends begin to outgrow the truth like people claiming Maradona led Argentina single-handedly to a WC with a very weak Argentinian team(which it wasn't). Arguments like these and dramatizing the truth will become more difficult as everything is being well documented now and is there for everybody to see on YT. Definitely, in years to come, Messi will be considered the better player between the two.

The problem with using YT-argument is what clemente just already mentioned. The opinions from those who actually watched Messi/Cristiano matches in first hand, will be more valued I think. In future, the revisionists will say Cristiano was definitely on the same level as Messi for almost a decade by using his awards and (more importantly) individual records. Or how prime CR7 will be recognized as the most complete footballer ever who had no weaknesses in his game. Sorry, but that's how it will be.

Sorry, I shoulda explained it better! You must have thought by comps I meant only skills highlights! But it's more than just that! For examples: gameplay analyzing vids, individual plays vs specific teams vids, etc and if you go outside YT and spend some time on the net, you can find and download many full matches of Barca with Messi playing or other teams games as well with fairly good quality (quite easy to find HD720p for games from 2008 going forward, 1080p can be hard to find, before that maybe SD)

He's carried the club since Pep left. Next season will be no different.

Looks super focused in training pics. Like he was never Leo Messi. Like he's got something to prove. Expect something new this season.

Never do more than speculate on players you didn't personally watch. Ahem.
