10 - Lionel Messi - v5

Argentina is Messi and nothing more.

Sampaoli is a total fraud who's starting 3rd rate players and entirely dropped top level footballers in Aguero, Higuain, Dybala, etc. It was his job to fix the squad by benching the underperforming vets (not getting rid of them) and adding in growing Argentina talent like Rulli, Correa, Lanzini, Paredes, Icardi, etc. He lives or dies with that BS 3 at the back system and in his pressers he's been acting like everything has gone perfectly to plan and that the team is performing amazingly.

Even with Leo's heroics they won't make it far in Russia. Sampaoli will be the coach to give Messi his final letdown and then his international career will be done. They don't deserve to be in the WC. They don't deserve Messi. I hope after he retires they never qualify again, and that Brazil smack them for eternity. They underappreciated Messi and never properly equipped him to be a champion.

This shows if Messi truly wants to, he can score the goals. Played on not the best of pitch at x feet high. How many shots did he have on target not including the free kicks? 3?

It just shows how bad are Argentina, its not even funny, like they are at level of Bolivia or lower, I honestly have no idea how they are planning to play in Russia, can only hope for a lucky draws to the final...

On the last one was a bit lucky the ball bounced. Otherwise he would have had no chance scoring that falling down. The finish itself was perfect then.
All in all perfect game for Leo. He is the hero tonight and he deserves it.

I hope Sampaoli utilizes the time he has to find a better system that suits the better players. Argentina looks weak right now but WC is next summer.
And now it is time to think about Barca and Barca only. The biggest pressure is gone and now it is time to keep our La Liga run up.

Argentina will not go far.

A lot can change in one year.

Sampaoli will have a lot of time to find a system and the proper players now without any pressure.

Argentina sure need to change A LOT, but won't count them completely out yet.

History shows you that you can go from great to shit and vice versa a year before the WC after the qualification phase ends.

the third goal was definitely a fluke (kind of). But that's the luck of the champions. the second strike for the second goal, now that was the shit. it's typical messi he strikes the hell out of the ball from an almost standing position, he only needs one step to find that power which is something unusual for mortal players.
