World class assist tonight. He is the best creative midfielder in the world as well as the most lethal goal scorer. A better midfielder than De Bruyne, David Silva, Coutinho, Eriksen or whoever you care to mention and a better striker than Neymar, Ronaldo, Aguero, Kane, Aubameyang, Morata, Gabriel Jesus, Lukaku or whoever else you care to mention.

G.O.A.T.

Against Celta, I would experiment and play 4-3-3 again, with Alba as the LW and Digne as LB. Alba and Messi seem to understand eachother great and Messi would benefit from playing with someone that can do something in the final third. And bench Suarez. It seems that Leo thinks he must pass everything to Luis and that almost always results in the opposing team intercepting the ball or Luis being offisde/fucking things up.

Time for him to shave the beard, get a new haircut, visit his nutritionist, take a match or two off and come back like this:

Messi is still same, EV's tactics hold him back to become 14/15 again and ofc the players around him. EV isn't technically strong when it comes to how creating chances.
I just looked up Squawka's data for the most chances created among top 5 European leagues and Barca's ranked 21st.
P.s : Im just stating statistics ofc when your team create more chances the more you score and the more Messi would shine but still Messi could be as effective as 14/15 and lead us through CL final although he might not scores/assists many like Argentina in 2014 world cup.

Won't happen. Suarez (and most of the first team players) will get a rest in midweek Copa game so he'll again start vs Celta.

But to be fair, I think it's a good idea. If Suarez is really still carrying an injury (which I think it's very possible but of course it's not the only reason he's playing bad) I would give him a full 2 weeks off. Play with Arnaiz-Paco-Deulofeu/Vidal/Denis vs Murcia and Sporting and use Messi as false 9 against Celta.

Edit: Don't think Digne LB and Alba LW would work well though. Alba's strength are his runs behind the defense from the deep and I think one of the reasons why he's playing much better this season is that he has more offensive freedom with Neymar leaving. Don't believe he'd really do that great staying forward all the time and taking on defenders which he'd be expected to do more often if he'd play as a true winger. Sure, we could try that out but I'm happy with how both Alba and Digne have played as wingbacks so no need to change that imo. We should instead try to fix the right side until Dembele is back and after that continue to build his chemistry with Semedo which I'm sure was Valverde's plan before Dembele got injured.

yesterday always in the core of the game...
probably not the best messi we have seen
but, as usual, thanks to him we scored...
magical assist for jordi alba...

it's a strange that he didn't score in the last 30 days, but is not a problem...
absolutely...

he habituated us too much well...
for sure he will come back to score soon...
no doubt about it.

Against Celta, I would go with:

------------Ter Stegen----------
Semedo--Pique--Umtiti--Digne
-------------Busquets-----------
-------Roberto-----Iniesta------
Denis--------Messi---------Alba

65th minute substitution On: Paulinho, Out: Iniesta; Denis to LCM, Paulinho to RCM, Roberto RW.

With that I would try if Alba can play as LW. If that doesn't work, we can still sub Digne off in the 2nd and play Jordi as a LB. That setup would also be very solid defensively, and we would learn if the false 9 setup is better than what we currently have.

And against Murcia:

----------------Cillesen---------------
Semedo--Pique--Vermaelen--Digne
----------------Rakitić----------------
---------Alena---------Denis---------
Deulofeu-------Suarez-------Arnaiz

Resting our key players: Messi, Iniesta, Busquets, Ter Stegen, Alba, Umtiti. I would play Suarez against Murcia, because if he can't score against them, he won't score against anybody. I would also sub Delofeu for Alcacer in the 2nd half and possibly Pique for Costas.

With that setups we would rest Messi again and with him as a false 9 against Celta, we would almost certainly get a goal or two from him.

Stoped reading after I saw Raki and Suarez missing, I think we both know those two are untouchable no matter how shit they play.
