65th minute substitution On: Paulinho, Out: Iniesta; Denis to LCM, Paulinho to RCM, Roberto RW.

With that I would try if Alba can play as LW. If that doesn't work, we can still sub Digne off in the 2nd and play Jordi as a LB. That setup would also be very solid defensively, and we would learn if the false 9 setup is better than what we currently have.

There's also a chance that Messi has decided to hibernate on the pitch to save himself for the World Cup. Notice that he's been relatively poor since the international break where Argentina officially qualified (basically since the Atleti match). Of course the formation isn't helping him a whole lot either, but it's just a thought.

People seem to praise his performance that night but he constantly dropped too deep alongside Busquets, not sure why, and kept clashing with the midfielders, considering they were a 442 diamond and tried to long pass to the left side with Alba and Iniesta at the receiving end(which is often futile), with other midfielders isolated to make space for Messi. And Suarez just waiting and waiting for the ball which he willnever get to.

Messi shud be in more advanced position with Iniesta dropping deep, not the other way round. The way Messi is playing is limiting attcaking options and crowding the midfield. Shud have made more runs in between the two lines of defence, not dropping all the way back.

Neymar is missed and would be a huge upgrade for Barca.

If could be as solid as have been with Messi and Neymar up top would be almost unstoppable.

Don't compare Neymar under Lucho with Neymar under Valverde. Pre-season in the US gave a glimpse that this Messi-Neymar link-up would've been fire. Messi the creator, Neymar the finisher.

Neymar is definitely missed, especially when Suarez is feeling the full impact. We lack good wingers with pace, width, if Neymar decide to come back which is 100% unlikely, this would be one of the most balanced Barcelona team. But Neymar should stick to being mainly a winger if not Messi cannot find anyone on the left side.

However, if both Neymar and Messi drop very deep again, it would result in the same disaster like last season. Technically, I miss his ability and talent but not his playing style. But if he does change his playing style under Valverde system, it would have been more than perfect.
