Same with Alba who might be the most overrated Barcelona player in recent memory. Take his pace away and he wouldn't even be playing for a La Liga team. Not a great defender. Cannot cross to save his life(unless it's a cutback to Messi). Can only play simple passes. Cannot shoot or finish 99% of the chances he gets, can barely dribble past a man unless he got space to use his pace through the good old kick and run method, cannot make a dynamic play to create a chance, etc.

You are exaggerating a bit regarding Alba's attacking contribution to our team. Yes, defensively he is not that great.

Ok, Alba's chipped crosses aren't the best, but even if he delivers a good one, Suarez is the only one that can fight for those balls, since his aerial game is quite decent. Messi, Rakitic, Coutinho, etc. are either physically midgets or just not good enough in the air. What's the remaining option? Play a "grounded" cross. Obviously, that results in many misplaced passes, because you need to find the exact path to your teammate, no margin of error (or a slight one if you want) here. Below it's an example on what i'm talking about:

You can see how he's faking the pass multiple times just so he can find the perfect moment to deliver what had to be an assist.
I know we would like to have a player like Marcelo, who has both good dribbling and shooting skills, but that doesn't mean Jordi is totally useless.

Alba is a very good LB still. Isn't he starter for Spain?

Lack of good FBs in the World. His pace is useful so there's that.

Tbh I just hate his attitude too so might be a bit biased here as well. Comes off as a cunt, an entitled cunt.

I would punch that face of his 10 times a day. Him and Suarez are our most unlikable players by far.

He's still a good fit for our one dimensional style of play. No point to complain about his attacking contribution when we are lacking what we need the most, a strong midfield.

I would still keep him due to the lack of quality when it comes to his position. Although wish he had proper competition so he'd be less of a cunt.

The lack of competition is one of the main reasons why this team crumbles so bad in the late stages of the season. Players cannot be arsed anymore, they know they are going to play the next match even though they play like shit, because Gomes and Paco aren't going to replace them

Even if you get guys who can properly compete in the squad you have dudes like Alba start to whine about shit. Look at last season when we switched to the 3-3-1-3 for that time, Alba was crying and bitching about how being benched during that period.

Also remember that time Rakitic rode the bench last season as well and was replaced with by Gomes in the Midfield. Rumors instantly started swirling about him possibly leaving in January, and I wouldn't doubt his entourage were leaking stuff behind the scenes to put pressure on Lucho to play him again as a starter.

As I said there's guys in this squad who claim they would welcome competition only for them in reality to hate it because they think they're entitled to be starters in this team.

One thing is for sure: I cannot wait for the day we can bench Alba with a superior player in his position. I hope Miranda becomes that player.

We need players with character and leadership. Alba is neither. He's just a dickhead.

Alba hasn't had a great season since his 2014/15 year.

This season he started off well but after teams figured out his schick he went back to his previous level. He can't cross very well, can't dribble very well either but he's quick! We give Roberto-Semedo shit on the right side but at least they're trying different things. Alba? he keeps doing the same shit over and over again without much success.

This is not because the lack of quality outside Messi, but because our game plan is built on Messi, it's by design. This is mostly down to managers seeking the easy option - we have Messi so let's give him the ball and it's job 3/4 done.
You’re very mistaken sir. Pep and Villanova’s Barça was built on Messi with very good players and an appropriate system to boot.

This Barça is built on making mediocre players like Rakitic and passed it players like Suárez comfortable while using Messi as a conduit.

Giving Messi the ball is really not the problem. Any coach would do so... The problem is expecting Messi to operate the midfield as well as be a forward. It’s not sustainable.

People need to understand, you have to have some luck to winy trophies. Simple as that. You can have the dream squad and fail, analyse the reasons later and always find the flaws. It could have so easily been us yesterday had RM lost the game against Juve and us not failing big time against Roma. But thing to note they were also very close to big time failure against Juventus.

Having said that we need some changes for sure. Mostly we need a poacher, Suarez is just finished. We cannot rely on his sloppiness and inability to score a goal in the CL. This one is huge and I think one of the biggest reasons why we failed in the CL. We can bash Benzema and Bale all we want, but look what has happened yesterday. This is one of the reasons why I'm so glad to have Coutinho, probably the deadliest shooter after Messi. So I would love to have him as close to the box line as possible. We cannot rely on Alba scoring, like RM can on Marcelo, but we can do that for Cou. We can rely on more assist from Dembele and even more goals.
