It’s only Haiti, but at least they are playing like a team now and scoring goals while at it. There’s some hope.

Lanzini, Lo Celso, and a fit Aguero could be huge for Argentina this summer. Lo Celso is great and intelligent on the ball, a hard/effective worker everywhere on the pitch. Lanzini's understanding of Messi is perfect and he creates chances on his own with great dribbling, through balls, and crosses. It was only Haiti but you can definitely tell which players 'get it' and which ones don't. Higuain and Di Maria were awful, Lo Celso and Lanzini played with confidence like they've been backing up Messi for years. Aguero too seems like a much more intelligent, crafty player nowadays and could be a great veteran scoring presence to have.

Argentina need to go with the better fit team rather than the most 'experienced'. Di Maria should not start, only be used as a sub. He's even more crippling in attack than Suarez with his wasteful dribbles/crosses. Their squad isn't necessarily that bad at all if Sampaoli makes the most of it. A decent mix of talent everywhere on the pitch, serviceable role players, and the X factor in Messi that can will a team to victory on any day.
